Iraqi terrorists Being Supplied With Arms Smuggled From Iran'
Topics: IraqIn a report that is about as much a "revelation" as the non-revelation in our previous post, "senior military figures" have told the Telegraph that Iran is sustaining the insurgency against British and American forces in Iraq by supplying terrorists with weapons and cash:
Military sources have disclosed that there is "very, very strong intelligence" that elements inside Iran have continued to fund and support the gun-running. There is still no "concrete evidence", in part, it is claimed, because Iranian weapons are designed to be untraceable. And the guards that "sprung into action and stopped vehicles only when British soldiers were around" are still alive or not in prison? Enough with the niceties, is the West in Iraq to solve the problem or are we going to continue to just tread water? Why hasn't Iran already been engaged over their fueling the flames in Iraq, covertly or otherwise, and what is the administration waiting for? How could we have ever thought for even a moment that failing to stop Iran and Syria's involvement in Iraq could result in anything other than the chaos that we see in Iraq today?"But we know when something goes bang there is an Iranian influence on that bomb," an intelligence official said.
In Basra, Iranian trucks could be seen going through customs with little hindrance from the Department of Border Enforcement.
British soldiers claimed that when they appeared the guards would spring into action, stopping vehicles, but as soon as they left the customs officers waved the traffic through.
I know, I know - so many questions, so few answers. I'm beginning to think and sound like a Democrat. Then again, what answers have come from the Republicans? There is, however, one thing about which we can be certain; political agenda and power will continue to drive American political parties and their leadership, with what's good for America and the survival of the West being a distant last.
