Via The Australian:

A TOTAL of 14 security contractors, including four Americans, have been abducted in an ambush on a convoy in southern Iraq.

ABC News said the contractors, who specialise in convoy security, were travelling near the southern city of Nasariyah.

The abducted Americans worked for Crescent Security Group, a Kuwait-based company, and were with a convoy driving from an area close to the Kuwaiti border to an Italian base near Nasariyah, according to ABC News.

Ali Base, one of the largest US-run air operation centres in Iraq, lies just outside Nasariyah.
