Mexico Wants UN To Block U.S. Border Fence
Topics: Immigration and Border Issues
[Image: Preferred method of border control, to accomodate Mexico's complaint about the fence.]
Vincente Fox and his Foreign Secretary, Luis Ernesto Derbez, both of whom must be consuming large quantities of peyote, have apparently lost all sense of reality. How else could they rationalize Mexico having any right to say anything whatsoever about the U.S. building a fence to protect its borders from the ongoing flood of illegal Mexicans coming across its borders? (See Mexico may take fence dispute to U.N. )
Captain's Quarters offers some suggestions on the matter:
We could start by having Mexico police its own border and cease encouraging their citizens to migrate north for work. Evem better: Mexico could clean house and rid itself of the rampant corruption that creates the conditions for the substantial poverty that plagues its country, thereby making the massive migrations unnecessary. Better yet, Mexico could mind its own business about the kind of border security we see fit to install on our side of the border.StrikeNstein thinks Mexico has lost its mind, and notes that it is our country, our money and our land, end of conversation!
And that's also my feeling, exactly. Except of course if we replace the fence with the method depicted in the above image.
