Baby Killers
Topics: Abortion, Euthanasia advocacy, Life Issues, North KoreaNorth Korea's nuclear weapons program is indeed reason for concern and alarm. However, while the world focuses the regime's future plans for its atomic bomb, the most hideous of acts are already being carried out:
THE North Korean regime's obsession with racial purity has led to the killing of disabled infants and forced abortions for women suspected of conceiving their babies by Chinese fathers, according to a growing body of testimony from defectors. This really makes me sick. The low value assigned to human life and the god-like sovereignty of the state suggest North Korea is able to justify virtually any act of war against enemies who stand in their way. The're already killing their own kids! The latest description of Kim Jong-il's policy of state eugenics came from a North Korean doctor, Ri Kwang-chol, who escaped last year and told a forum in Seoul that babies with deformities were killed soon after birth.
"There are no people with physical defects in North Korea," Ri said. Such babies were put to death by medical staff and buried quickly, he claimed. He denied ever committing the act himself.
Pro-life groups are already speaking out and attempting to lend support to the oppressed. However, I don't suppose NARAL, NOW or Planned Parenthood are going to take any position against the murder of disabled Korean children and forced abortions unless, perhaps, it involves pushing tax funded contraception on the impoverished.
Finally, I note that the killing of disabled infants, in my opinion, is but a small step away from the ethical position that justified dehydrating Terri Schiavo and killing Texans via a futile care law using the proposition, "I wouldn't want to live life that."
