17 potential suicide bombers arrested in Afghanistan

Topics: Islam And The War On Terror

According to the BBC, Afghan officials say that they have arrested 17 individuals who were planning suicide attacks. It is alleged that the suicide bombers were trained in Pakistan. The government in Pakistan has denied any involvement in the training of these bombers. However, the camps have been the trainng ground for people from Afghanistan, Iraq, Chechya and other countries where there has been a sudden rise in the number of murder-suicides via bomb blasts.

The government in Kabul has noted that in the past year there has been an increase in the suicide bombings, and the victims included 4 Canadian soldiers. The fear is that the Taleban is importing the same kind of tactics that have been used in Iraq. The fighting in Afghanistan has recently intensified, and yes it does seem like the Taleban is making a comeback. If that happened it would be a disaster for the people of Afghanistan who want to throw off the hallmarks of enslavement forced upon them by the Taleban in the past.
