Pakistan's Resolve In WOT Appears To Be Rapidly Fading

Topics: War on Terror

The US is outraged as Pakistan frees Taliban fighters:

Five years after American-led coalition forces overthrew the Taliban during Operation Enduring Freedom, United States officials have been horrified to discover that thousands of foreign fighters detained by Pakistan after fleeing the battleground in Afghanistan have been quietly released and allowed to return to their home countries.

... the released prisoners reportedly represent a broad cross-section of the jihadist movement, including computer experts, WMD experts, and low-level grunts.

This is the second significant al-Qaeda victory in Pakistan in recent weeks. Sources of the Counterterrorism Blog say this latest victory for al-Qaeda given them by Pakistan "nullifies five years' worth of work in one fell swoop."
