Dear Friends On The Left - A 'Letter across the divide'

Topics: Political News and commentaries

Jules Crittenden has written a letter "across the divide" to our friends on the Left that just don't get it when it comes to understanding that we are in a war, that it is real, it is not of our choosing, but if we don't win - we die, unless we all convert to their brand of Islam:

Dear Friend,

We've begun this conversation across the great rift that is dividing our country, as I've begun staking out my positions. It is a conversation full of suspicion, jibes and bitterness. It's hard to avoid that when tensions are as high as they are, when there is so much at stake. But you asked if I dislike all Democrats or if I harbor a special dislike for one in particular.

I love men and women of all stripes that I've encountered -- Arabs, Persians, Europeans, Israelis, Indians, Paks, Armenians, Argentinians, Mexicans, Thais, Malays, military, civilian, right, left, center, religious and heathen. And yes, even Dems and the French. I have loved the time I've spent in the company of all of them. Some of them make it more challenging than others.

You ask if I really think we have enemies who want to kill us. I judge them by their words and their deeds.

You deride fear-mongering. We may disagree on what constitutes fear-mongering, but we agree on this: Fear is something to be avoided or overcome, because we should not let the evil intentions of others intimidate us. Failure to recognize their malicious intent is foolish, however. In war, regrettably we are sometimes left with little recourse. The sad truth is that there are times when we are compelled to act.

... Some people think these things can be negotiated away. That would be nice, but I highly doubt that.To believe that would require me to believe the other side is operating on something other than cynicism, deceit and malicious intent, and I've seen no evidence of that. They are buying time and playing for advantage.

... But enough about me.Some questions for you: Do you actually think our own president is a greater menace to world peace and stability than our opponents would be with nuclear weapons? Are we to accept the word of tyrants that they were well-intentioned and not engaged in weapons programs when all the evidence has convinced our leaders and intelligence agencies that they are?

... Do you believe it is acceptable to have nations of demonstrated murderous intent in a position to control large portions of the world's strategic resources?

... If we were to walk away from all of this, do you believe they would leave us alone?

Go read it all, especially if you're one of our friends on the Left.
