CAIR's Extremist Makeover

Topics: Understanding Islam

Tomorrow night, CAIR will be sponsoring an event featuring the former President of Iran, Mohammad Khatami, who described Hezbollah during the recent fighting in Lebanon as, "a shining sun that illuminates and warms the hearts of all Muslims and supporters of freedom in the world" (a few questions for Khatami you won't here answered).

Meanwhile CAIR is attempting to put on a new face to their extremist nature, saying on their website that "The change at CAIR starts with a brand new identity that reflects our core values of being." They've dispensed with the boring blue logo and replaced it with an equally boring emblem that now includes an Islamic pattern combining four crescents and stars. However, while the logo has received a facelift, the organization is still the same old CAIR - the same radical Islamist group that it was when it began more than twelve years ago.
