An Exclamation Point On The Valerie Plame/Joe Wilson Sic Joke On The American Public

Topics: Political News and commentaries

... and the MSM's complicity in fermenting and perpetuating it. However, as is often the case, the truth is has finally surfaced:

... it now appears that the person most responsible for the end of Ms. Plame's CIA career is Mr. Wilson. Mr. Wilson chose to go public with an explosive charge, claiming -- falsely, as it turned out -- that he had debunked reports of Iraqi uranium-shopping in Niger and that his report had circulated to senior administration officials. He ought to have expected that both those officials and journalists such as Mr. Novak would ask why a retired ambassador would have been sent on such a mission and that the answer would point to his wife. (WaPo)

I've just never taken any of the Valerie Plame/Joe Wilson anti-administration charges seriously and have always considered the whole affair to be nothing less than Joe Wilson deliberate attempt to cover up his own ineptitude while trying score points for the Democrats and make the adminstration out to be bad guys - ergo, I've written little to nothing about it. I still feel the same way, but fortunately for those of you who are interested, blogs like Captain's Quarters, Redstate, Michelle Malken, and Hot Air have a plethora of discussion about it, and how the media, although burying the story somewhere back in D-15 or so, are actually calling it for what it is - exactly what many on the right side of the blogosphere have been saying about it the entire time.

You'll find the biggest joke of the century - here (read every word on the page - particularly the description under "The Leak") - it's all a sick reminder of the bizarre nature of the entire episode. The joke is on everyone that gave any credence to the any part of the Wilson/Plame affair - but most especially, the Democratic party and the MSM.
