Scientists Possibly Discover How Man Awoke From 19 Years In 'Vegetative State'

Here goes the proverbial stirring up of a hornet's nest! Since I've posted so lightly today, I might as well throw up one to stir up some emotions.
Scientists believe they may have discovered how a man made a dramatic recovery after spending 19 years in a near-vegetative state. Analysis suggests that Terry Wallis, who was involved in a car accident when he was 19, has re-grown brain tissue.
What a great story - too bad these researchers have not "discovered" what others already know about PVS.
Readers will recall that Terri Schiavo was put to death by Michael Schiavo, her husband, and Judge George "This Lady Must Die" Greer of the Pinellas County court system in Florida - in less than 15 years after her collapse at home under undetermined circumstances. The reason - she was accused of being in a vegetative state. Too bad she was never given the time and long-term rehabilitative therapy to facilitate regenerattion of her brain tissue.
I expect these comments to drive the "right to kill" and "right to die" enthusiasts out of the woodwork - and I'll see the usual and customary commentaries attacking everything related to life and supporting everything related to death, murder, and giving up on life.
BTW, notice image of Wallis, then look at Terri with her mother. Interestingly, Terri appears actually more alert than Wallis - and he's now regenerating brain cells and undergoing significant improvement.
