From Banners In Iraq To Hezbollah In Lebanon - It's The Mahdi At Work

Topics: Understanding Islam

Ahmadinejad and the 12th Imam.jpgOmar at Iraq The Model believes (and apparently others in Iraq since he uses the pronoun "we") that the ongoing war in Lebanon is not only about Hizbollah and Israel, that it is likely the first stage of a wider regional conflict that is going to extend far beyond the borders of Lebanon and Israel. He adds that it is not wise to try to deal with it in the same way previous conflicts were dealt with, because this conflict is not like what's been seen in the past - this time it's important that we realize the theological (mythological) element in this particular conflict and it's likely impetus for expansion into full-scale regional war.

Both Ahmedinejad and Sadr believe it is their duty to pave the way and prepare the ground for the rise of the Imam whose rise, according to their branch of Shia Islam, requires certain conditions and a sequence of certain events; the story is too long to discuss in one post so I'll just move on to offer my observations...

We are seeing some signs here that make us think that Iran and its tools in Iraq are trying to provoke the rise of the imam through forcing the signs they believe should be associated with that rise. One of the things that do not feel right is the sudden appearance of new banners and writings on the walls carrying religious messages talking specifically of imam Mehdi (the Hidden Imam, the Mahdi, or promised one). These messages are getting abundant in Baghdad and in particular in the eastern part of the capital where Sadr militias are dominant and a special number can be seen in the area of the interior ministry complex.

The interesting part is that these banners appeared within less than 24 hours after Hizbollah kidnapped the Israeli soldiers. Coincidence? I don't think so.

In other words, given the radical fundamentalism of Iran's Ahmadinejad and its Shia puppets Muqtada al-Sadr and his militia in Iraq, and Sheikh Hassan Nasralah's Hizbollah in Lebanon, the real target for cutting off the head of the snake of a brand of Islamic terrorism that aspires to bring about Armageddon to the West, and themselves if necessary in the process, is Iran, Syria, and those that follow that brand of fanatacism such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Muqtada al-Sadr's militia in Iraq.

Back on May 5 of this year in our piece entitled, "Ahmadinejad And The Mahdi" we addressed these very same issues and discussed whether or not Ahmadinejad would launch a murderous attack against Israel or the United States in a misguided and fanatical attempt to see his dream of the return of the Hidden Imam come to fruition? Apparently, the issue may now be upon us.

Iran is comprised mainly of followers of the "Twelfth," or the Hidden Imam. He succeeded Al-Hassan al-Askari who died in A.D. 874. Shiite Muslims believe that the Twelfth Imam disappeared down a well near Jamkaran in A.D. 941, and will emerge from this location at his Second Coming. But first, they believe, the world will go through great calamities and upheavals. This "apocalypse" will set the conditions for the Mahdi's return.

The Hidden Imam is known by several monikers, which translate to "expected one," the "hidden one" and, of course, Mahdi (promised one). His mystique is enhanced by the legend that the young successor in the lineage of Muhammad was secreted because he was unaccepted by the majority of Muslims. He will apparently be kept in seclusion until the day he emerges to reunite Muslims, conquer the world and establish an Islamic caliphate.

Ahmadinejad has taken up the banner of the Hidden Imam. His hate-filled rhetoric aimed at the Jews and America is stirring fanatical Muslims the world over.

Initially, Ahmadinejad's threats seemed but the idle ranting of a megalomaniac. But now, soon to be armed with the capability to produce nuclear weapons, Iran will be a menace with which to be reckoned. The spirit of the Grand Ayatollah Khomeini lives on in Iran. This is the same Khomeini who said in 1981, "I say let Iran go up in smoke, provided Islam emerges triumphant in the rest of the world."

Addendum: Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Tuesday promised a "rejoicing" for Muslims in the Middle East "soon," the Islamic Republic News Agency reported. ... Speaking to university officials in the town of Mashhad, Ahmadinejad said the "volcano of rage" at the "arrogant powers" was "on the verge of eruption."

It sounds like Iran is very close to having a nuclear bomb.

Interestingly, and a sign that Arab Muslims are getting antsy about Ahmadinejad and the mullahs, Partisan Times posts on a leading Wahhabi sheik in Saudi Arabia that has issued a fatwa that strongly condemns the actions of Hezbollah while ordering Muslims not to join or pray for the terrorist group.
