CAIR Soliciting Accounts of U.S. Injuries In Lebanon

So that the Islamist-supporting, terrorist-affiliated Muslim group can use the info (collected online) to discredit the U.S. and Israel, saying that they "need to know whether any of our nation's citizens or permanent residents were harmed by Israeli attacks using American taxpayer-supplied weapons," - according to CAIR executive director Nihad Awad.

The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations is using an online questionnaire to collect eyewitness accounts of American citizens or permanent residents injured or killed in the fighting in Lebanon.
CAIR's survey asks if the respondent was injured, then asks him or her to list the names of American citizens or permanent residents who were injured or killed. It also asks for personal information, including a passport or residency card number.

"We need to know whether any of our nation's citizens or permanent residents (what he's really refering to is the Muslim Ummah - not real Americans) were harmed by Israeli attacks using American taxpayer-supplied weapons," CAIR executive director Nihad Awad said in a statement.

More than 300 people have died in Lebanon, most of them civilians, since Israel began retaliatory rocket attacks after Hezbollah abducted two Israeli soldiers last week.

United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan on Thursday called for both Israel and Hezbollah to cease hostilities, but the Bush administration has repeatedly said that a temporary or quickly negotiated cease-fire would leave Hezbollah able to regroup and rearm after more than a week of Israeli missile attacks.

"We'd love to have a cease-fire," White House spokesman Tony Snow said. "But Hezbollah has to be part of it. And at this point, there's no indication that Hezbollah intends to lay down arms."

AS noted in a previous post, CAIR is a terrorist organization:

"CAIR is the principle front organization of a coalition of Islamist (or fundamentalist Muslim) groups that have taken root in America over the past two decades. Most are spin-offs of the Islamic Association of Palestine (IAP), such as the American Muslims for Jerusalem, the Holy Land Foundation, and the Islamic Institute. These are extreme groups, and some have even come under federal investigation for alleged support of Middle Eastern terrorism. But CAIR's mission has differed from the others: its special assignment is the insinuation of the Islamist agenda into mainstream American politics. Like the many front organizations established by the Soviet Union in its heyday, CAIR works to give a "white bread" image to advocates of illiberal and even radical ideas."
