From Congressman John Murtha's assertion that Marines in Haditha had killed civilians "in cold blood," the media promptly rushed to judgement, topping every story with Murtha's cold-blooded (politically-motivated) soundbite, and from there it became a "maybe murder" story. Now, after essentially calling the Marines murderers and handing the Islamoterrorists a huge propaganda weapon to use against us and recruit more terrorists to kill our troops, the media is "backing off of its original tone."
