Sex Offender Jerry Buck Inman Admits Killing Tiffany Souers

Jerry Buck Inman, the 35-year-old registered sex offender/construction worker who was wanted in the death of Tiffany Souers, the Clemson University student that was strangled with her bikini top, was taken into custody late Tuesday in Tennessee. He was charged in connection with her death and subsequently waived extradition after which he was returned to South Carolina to face charges of murder, rape and kidnapping. Inman was identified as a suspect in the case from DNA samples taken from the crime scene. South Carolina Police indicated that there were two database hits linking Inman to the DNA samples. As to how Inman picked Tiffany to murder:
"He didn't know the victim," Davenport said Wednesday, according to wire reports. "It is our information he was driving around in the (victim's) neighborhood and saw her and he liked her looks."The question on everyone's mind now is just what was this character doing out loose without a monitoring bracelet, or even what was he doing out of prison, period!That AP also reports that in Rainsville, Ala., Inman was charged with attempted rape, burglary, robbery and theft of property in a May 23 incident in which police say he broke into a home and tried to attack a 24-year-old woman after she came home for lunch. Davenport also indicated that he expects Inman will also be charged with a May 24 rape in Sevierville, Tenn.
"It seems like he was just wandering around, finding vulnerable people _ women _ and preying on them and conducting sexual assaults and getting progressively worse," Davenport added. "This may be just the tip of the iceberg."
