Topics: Understanding IslamCan Islamic societies handle criticism without attempting to destory their detractors? Can a substantive debate occur without Islamic adherents relying on coercive persuasion and personal attacks as the primary means to support their position?
The Jawa Report, effectively shut down due to a Turkish Islamist DDOS attack, is living evidence that the answer is "no". Rusty and company had ridiculed the violent response of Islamic extremists to a false story that claimed guards at Guantanomo Bay had flushed a Koran down a toilet. Islamic cyber terrorists have substantiated Rusty's position by assaulting his site, taking it down through constant massive and widely distributed server requests.
