Email From Islamist Accuses Hyscience As 'Anti-Islamist'

Topics: Understanding Islam

Here's an email I received at 8:45 this morning, accusing Hyscience of being anti-Islamist and "making dirty Islam". If the writer is saying that we are anti -"ISLAMIST", then he is paying us a compliment because it is our every intention to be anti-Islamist and "make dirty" the filthy ideology of "Islamists" - followers of radical Islam:

this is a anti islamist and non sencs web site.and trying to make dirty islam..... but islam is a complete religein u can not fade this bec allah have fully power in this world

Our Islamic friend's IP address is in Qatar, in the Ad DoHah region. I won't venture to guess whether he is a follower of Islam or an Islamist - a radical fundamentalist.

I trust our Muslim friend is not confusing our use of the term "Islamist" with our use of the term "Islamic"; perhaps he should make sure that he understands the difference.

Islamic refers to matters relating to Islam, however Islamist and Islamism have an entirely a different meaning. Here's a fairly good description of an Islamist, from Islamist Watch.Org:

Islamists support Shariah law, and wish to have it implemented in as many countries as possible; preferably throughout the entire world. A few Islamists may advocate such radical change via peaceful means, but most seem to advocate the change using violence. With the sword, the rifle, car bombs, grenades, poisons, hijacked planes, bacteria, nerve agents, and if possible nuclear weapons they mean to oppose democracy and secular government throughout the globe, destroy such systems, and establish a Caliphate (one-world Islamic government based on Shariah law, guided by a single supreme ruler, the Caliph). IslamistWatch.org is primarily concerned with the latter, the Islamists who believe it is incumbent on them to impose Shariah by force of arms. They believe using violence to spread their version of Islam is justified in the Quran and the Sunnah (the Sunnah is a collection of works that narrate the Prophet Muhammad's life). The Islamists who have written the texts, fatwas, and communiques featured on Islamistwatch.org are determined to fight jihad until religion is for Allah alone, and the infidels have been defeated, subjugated, or eliminated altogether.
I have many Muslim friends, and I "believe" that they are not Islamists - followers of radical Islam (I say "believe", in light of the recent Canadian experience with all the "nice kids that grew up in Canada and played soccer" that turned out to be radicals). Hyscience and Freedom's Zone, together, sponsor many bloggers that are Muslim - throughout the world. We do not insult Islam, but we have every intention of insulting radical Islam - the Islamists. Al-Zarqawi, who only yesterday met his just demise at the end of two 500 pound bombs - was an Islamist. If our friend is an Islamist, I can only hope that he finds his way back to the beliefs that moderate Muslims say are in the Islam that they worship.
