Dear New York Times, L.A. Times, and The Wall Street JournalTopics: Follies of the Mainstream Media
The take away message here is that you have placed my son's life in greater jeopardy, as you have also done with the lives of others fighting the War On Terror, and with every American living here and abroad. Should my son lose his life in Iraq, or any member of my family be harmed by terrorists, I intend to hold you legally and financially responsible for making public national secrets, including the sources and methods our nation uses to fight the War On Terror. Your actions enable the enemy to evade detection and to facilitate terrorist activities against my family, and most particularly, my son and others who are engaged in fighting the war on terror. In my post yesterday entitled, "A Brief Message To The Mainstream Media About The War On Terror (Updated)," I wrote that "the time has come to put aside your private collective anti-U.S., anti-Bush administration prejudices, and start thinking more about the security and "privacy" of our national secrets."
Far-fetched as this may seem at the present, you shall see how this idea evolves over time, and you may be greatly surprised as more and more Americans decide to hold you responsible for your actions!
I said this because you have chosen to ignore the fact that our nation is at war, a war against Islamofascism and Islamic jihad, against people who wish to do nothing less than kill as many Americans as possible, and every Muslim that doesn't agree with their ideology.
Because of your political agendas and perhaps for financial reasons, you have made public important national secrets used to protect Americans from our terrorist enemies, and have in fact aided and abetted the enemy in a time of war. You have betrayed your country, and placed every American citizen, and especially every single Soldier, Sailor, Marine, Airman, and American contractor, at greater risk of being killed, my own son among them - who will soon be returning to Iraq for the fourth time.
So hereby be advised that should anything happen to my son, I plan to hold your organizations responsible, and will take legal action against you in a class action suit involving everyone who suffers the loss of their loved one in the War on Terror, from this point forward. Your liberal, progressive, anti-war agenda and treasonous actions deserve to be held accountable for the lives lost to terrorism and combat, for your actions have blinded our nation in identifying those that wish to attack us and to fund terrorists both here and abroad.
You continue to exhibit a lack of concern for the lives of Americans, and your consistent efforts to make public our nation's secrets have placed America's citizens at great risk. Since it is clear that you have no sense of patriotism and no regard whatsoever for the lives of Americans, perhaps the one thing you can understand is having your bank accounts affected by your actions.
I invite all American's that have lost loved ones in the War on Terror, to join me in considering taking the New York Times, The L.A. Times, and The Wall Street Journalto task, and seek legal damages for their action.
Addendum: So is this a whacko idea? I don't know the answer, but you can be damned sure that I mean every word here; I consider these media elitists to be traitors, and they have placed my son's life at risk when he returns to Iraq, and also the rest of my family living here in America. I don't know about the rest of you, but if any member of my family is lost to terrorism, I'll beat down the door of every attorney in the country, until I find a law firm willing to take these media "know it alls" on. If you or I divulge national secrets, we're going down. They deserve the same fate. When in the Marines, I had , at one time, a top secret crypto clearance. Had I broken my oath to not divulge national secrets, I'd have spent the rest of my life in Levenworth. Why not the NYT editors and the traitor(s) that gave them the info?
The people that gave the media the story deserve to spend life in prison. And so do the media. This is treason in a time of war, plain and simple. In WWII they'd been shot - which just might not be such a bad idea!!!
Whacko idea or not, these people deserve to be held accountable in the only way they'll understand - their wallets!
