US Redirects Nixed PA Funds To Medical Program

... And away from Palestinian militant's use for terrorism against Israel!

In a "use of funds" that makes good sense, the United States plans to spend some of the money it took back from the Palestinians on a new medical program rather than let it get into the hands of militant group Hamas.

On a side note, is the economic boycott against Hamas working? In an opinion piece at, Omri Dagan of the Reut Institute says that the economic boycott has yielded a different result, not necessarily positive, with regard to Washington's standing in the region. He says that the pressure does not seem to have worked. Hamas has not disappeared or moderated, mainly because there is no way to differentiate between "permitted" humanitarian aid and "prohibited" aid. In addition, PA leader Mahmoud Abbas is the international face of the Palestinians, and Israel has been unsuccessful in persuading the world to stop supporting groups directly or indirectly associated with Abbas. He then offers some good suggestions for turning this problem around...
