Positive Moves In Iraq Following Nomination Of New PM

Omar at Iraq the Model says that most politicians predict it won't take more than a week or ten days to present the formation of the cabinet, but he doesn't trust what their instinct tells them.

However, he does trust his own, and what he's seeing and hearing tells him they could be right this time. Jawad al-Maliki's nomination as PM has apparently brought positive changes in the political situation in Iraq:

... he was able to calm the tense atmosphere between the blocs that used to exchange all kinds of nasty accusations weeks ago, he was able to calm this tension with his announced plans for disbanding the militias and choosing nonsectarian, independent people for filling the defense and interior posts, actually it's sort of funny that blocs that used to fight for the interior ministry are now trying to avoid this responsibility and are running away from presenting their nominees for this ministry!

... I can understand this because now these blocs realize that being in charge of security will mean having to confront the militias sooner rather than later and this confrontation isn't expected at all to be an easy one.
