Opinion: Reminiscing about "The Summer of 42"

Topics: Culture and Society

As I grow older I sit here reminiscing about my youth, and wonder about the curious turns that the social mores of our youth have taken.

For instance, millions of young American boys were initiated in the past, during the 30s and 40s, in the "Rites of Passage" of sexual maturity and manhood by obliging older women. Now we call that "rape" while promoting homosexual behavior as a "Rite of Passage"....at least in San Francisco!

As the popular "Summer of 42" movie chronicled in the 70s, many young men used to be initiated into manhood, you may call it their "Sexual Bar Mitzvah," in such a manner, and no one saw anything reprehensible about it then.

Were it that I had ever been so lucky in my youth to have been "raped" by a teacher as good looking as Debrah LaFave, though I do not excuse her actions, nor the turbidity of the betrayal of her husband. But then, I was never so fortunate!

I did however marry the "Wife of my Youth" when I was just 16 years old and she was 18, which at the time made her an adult. I'm still married to her, and I just hope Bill O'Reilly doesn't find out about it lest he proposes that
"Jessica's Law" be retroactively applied to convict my wife of "raping" me (as I remember I was the one who couldn't wait, though she kept me at bay until our wedding night! LOL!)!!!

Of course, rabid feminists are willing to sacrifice such women, in the name of "equality" that they may then prosecute husbands who rape their wives (?), and "Johns" who "rape" prostitutes when the girl in question feels that she has not been paid enough for her willing services, as in the Duke Lacrosse fiasco.

With same sex marriage been actively promoted, "Alternate Lifestyles" being turned "Mainstream," and all manner of moral turpitude and wantonness being accepted as "normal," one watches in amazement the topsy-turvy nature of our modern moral mores...and must wonder why in light of the above the "Rite of Passage" into manhood of a young man by an older woman must be deemed so much more abhorrent than the aforementioned "abominations" to merit 25 years in jail....for doing the young man in question a favor!!!
