Judge Revokes Bail For Saudi Men That Boarded School Bus
Topics: TerrorismIn an update to our previous post on the Two Saudi Men Jump Aboard School Bus In Tampa Florida, a judge has revoked their bail.
A friend of the two University of South Florida students tried to post their bail Friday night, said Ahmed Bedier, Tampa director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, but a jail clerk told the friend that they couldn't be released because they were under an immigration hold until a hearing Saturday morning. As I said in the previous post (with images), although this could all be just a joke or a mistake on someone's part, something seems to smell to high heaven here. Most Muslims in the area hang out at common locations in the community, and ANYONE new to the area knows where the community hangs out and how to find out the local "rules of the road" (and boarding a school bus would be known by all the Muslims in the area as definate no-no. And as for Wharton High School, it's on North Bruce B. Downs Blvd. in an area of town that is north of and not far from the University of South Florida. Just minutes down the road from Wharton toward the university is a Starbucks, where on any given day or night you will find a large number of Arab-speaking men - a fact well known to the entire Arab community in the area. There is no way whatsoever two Arab men that have been here since January would not have known where they would find other Arab speaking men knowledgeable of the laws, local cultural sensitivities, and where someone new to the area could go in their community to get information. At the hearing, Sierra agreed with a prosecutor that she needed to know more about them before she could feel comfortable releasing them.
