IAEA's El Baradei Says Nuke Terrorists a Worry
Topics: TerrorismThe WaPo is reporting tonight that Mohamed ElBaradei, director of the International Atomic Energy Agency, says the world should be more worried about nuclear weapons falling into the hands of terrorists than about Iran's nuclear program, and that the international community needed a "collective security system that does not have an exclusive nuclear club, a system where every country feels secure" :
"The fear of terrorists acquiring nuclear weapons is much more, in my view ... than a country acquiring nuclear weapons right now," he said. This sounds an awful lot like a plug for allowing Iran to develop it's nuclear program, especially within the context of tonight's FT report that the United Nations' nuclear watchdog is investigating the source of traces of highly enriched uranium found on equipment procured by a suspicious Iranian site once associated with the defence ministry.
In other words, we're suppose to give Iran a pass on it's nuclear program, a program that suspiciously reads hot for highly enriched uranium when Iran says it has no intentions of going to weapons grade uraniums, and skip over that concern, allowing Iran to do whatever it wants to, and just worry about terrorists having nuclear weapons.
Isn't Iran the world's largest state supporter of terrorism? Isn't El Baradei Iranian? Forgive me for being perhaps a little too cautious, but if it walks like a duck ...
Forget what El Baradei says - let's do worry about Iran!!!
