American University In Cairo Becoming A Bastion Of Islamic Fundamentalism?
Topics: Understanding IslamThe American University in Cairo is considered to be the beacon of liberal arts and secular education in the region. Established over 85 years ago, the university always attracted the crème de la crème of Egypt's society.
That could be changing, as the influence of The Muslim Brotherhood increases.
Sounds like it's time for those who oppose the fundamentalist agenda to work harder to educate their fellow students against Islamic fundamentalism, and instead of having the ideological persuasions and influence of the Muslim Brotherhood in the larger society influence the campus, work harder to have the campus be an influence against fundamentalism in the larger society.
