'Military & Propaganda Messages' In The Zarqawi Tape

Topics: War on Terror

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's 34 minute long video tape (read "stage show") includes numerous political messages and information on al-Qaeda in Iraq's propaganda and military capabilities. Be sure to tead what Dr. Walid Phares says about several of the military and propaganda aspects...

Kevin Kohlman offers some interesting notes on the Zarqawi video - here.

So what's the best response to Zarqawi's diatribe? I like the way Condoleezza Rice frames her response: "The answer to the Zarqawi video is not anything that the United States can say, it's what the Iraqis are saying in having formed a government of national unity despite all the threats and all of the violence".

And so far as Zarqawi's comment about the new Iraqi government being an American "stooge" and a "poisoned dagger" in the heart of the Muslim world, that finger should in fact be pointing in the other direction - to Zarqawi himself and his fellow Islamists.
