Islamists Post Apostate Hit List

Most people are aware that leaving or insulting Islam can be quite hazardous to one's health. Now Islamists in Egypt have decided to make that a little more clear by posting a list on the Internet of the people that they would most like to see murdered - even going so far as to warn those people on the list (well, at least they're providing a warning) who had left the faith that they would have three days (as of yesterday) to repent or they would be killed. The group also warned that the wives and children of the Muslim apostates were being followed and would be killed.

Eugene Volokh sums up the absurdity of forcing someone to remain in a faith they do not believe: "Trying to prevent people from being killed for their religious beliefs is not an "assault against Islam." It's defense against Islam, or to be precise against a certain strand of Islam that regrettably cannot be dismissed as just some unimportant lunatic fringe".
