A Message from a Gold Star Mother
Topics: IraqOver the next twenty-four hours, several bloggers will post messages from military families who strongly support America's mission in Iraq. Iowa Voice posted a compelling message from M.E. Ward, a Gold Star Mother, and Ankle Biting Pundits posted a message from Diane Ibbotson, whose son died alongside Casey Sheehan.
Hyscience is proud and honored to participate in this event and to bring you this message from Kelly Freudenberg whose son was killed during a regular convoy mission in 2005. Unlike Cindy Sheehan, Kelly is determined to continue the fight against terror that their son gave his life for.
A lot of people say they support our troops, but they don't support the mission. That's like saying you support your child who plays a sport, but never attend a game or practice. It's not one or another. We need reverse that way of thinking.Little Green Footballs has a compelling guest post by Gold Star Father John Ellsworth, whose son Justin made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom in November 2004.
My son, Private First Class Elden Arcand, joined the Army so he could go to Iraq and support the troops that were already there. He died full knowing that his service made a difference to those gaining freedom in Iraq and also for his country. You can read about more about Elden at the Families United website.
Elden told me when they were driving on the convoy, the Iraqis would stand by the road and wave at them, and they were happy the U.S. was there. So why don't we see that in the media?
We must make sure the media hears about the positive things that are happening in Iraq. I know this can be done, and with the help of Families United we can conquer the dark cloud that is looming over the media regarding Iraq. Learn more about Families United here.
So I'm asking you to send a message to the media.
Please go to this website - , sign the letter, and forward it to your friends.
I hope you will join me in encouraging the national media to recognize that Iraqi Liberation Day is on April 9th. Don't Ignore this Milestone!
Sincerely,
Kelly Freudenberg

All Americans are in debt to all Gold Star parents for their tremendous sacrifice in the cause of freedom.
