UNC Jihadi In Letter To Eye Witness News: 'Allah Gives Permission In Koran' To Attack

Topics: Understanding Islam

I didn't have time to get this up yesterday, but better late than never!

Taheri-azar, the former University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill student, who, by his own admission, drove an SUV into a crowd with the intention of killing as many people as possible, has written a letter to ABC11 Eyewitness News anchor Amber Rupinta. The letter was received on Monday in response to their request for an interview, and had been sent from Central Prison in Raleigh and dated Friday, March 10. The two-page letter includes Taheri-azar's explanation of what he was trying to accomplish in the attack:

"Allah gives permission in the Koran for the followers of Allah to attack those who have raged war against them, with the expectation of eternal paradise in case of martyrdom and/or living one's life in obedience of all of Allah's commandments found throughout the Koran's 114 chapters..."

"The U.S. government is responsible for the deaths of and the torture of countless followers of Allah, my brothers and sisters. My attack on Americans at UNC-CH on March 3rd was in retaliation for similar attacks orchestrated by the U.S. government on my fellow followers of Allah in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, and other Islamic territories. I did not act out of hatred for Americans, but out of love for Allah instead. "

I believe that Taheri-azar deserves, at the very least, some credit for originality. While most people would have said, "The devil made me do it," at least Taheri-azar has come from an entirely different direction. He claims that Allah says in the Koran (I guess Allah wrote it) that killing all those evil students who were waging war against Allah by merely wandering around in the student area, minding their own business, will result in his free trip to paradise.

Where do the Islamists find these nutcases? Or do these characters become nutcases from reading the Koran? Daniel Pipes has a name for this kind of disease; he calls it 'Sudden Jihad Syndrome'.
