Pakistani forces kill 50 al-Qaeda Terrorists
Topics: TerrorismHow convenient, just as President Bush is about to arrive, Pakistani security forces find and kill 50 al-Qaeda "fighters" (sic - read terrorists).
As US President George W Bush promised to raise the issue of cross-border terrorism with President Pervez Musharraf when he visits Pakistan, security forces today claimed to have killed around 50 suspected al-Qaeda militants, including a Chechen commander, in the tribal region near the Pakistan-Afghan border. The raid is said to have been launched on the basis of "confirmed intelligence" that militants were present in the area. Interesting that "confirmed intelligence" just happens to come along when the President of the greatest military in the world is about to show up, and such a wealth of intelligence information had not previously been so forthcoming.
