Madrid bombing probe finds no al-Qaida link
Topics: Understanding Islam
For those who still believe that the War on Terror is a fight against Al-Qaeda, think again; the battle is against radical Islam where ever they are, all over the globe. And as Spain just found out, they are just as likely to be in your backyard as in the mountains of Pakistan. Europe and America are going to have to get used to this fact.
A two-year probe into the Madrid train bombings concludes the Islamic terrorists who carried out the blasts were homegrown radicals acting on their own rather than at the behest of Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida network, two senior intelligence officials said.So much for the liberal's theory of al-Qaeda being the issue. The real issue is now and always has been - radical Islam. It's a war between the Islamists, and the rest of us, and unfortunately, distinquishing between the Islamists and those that practice a less violent version of Islam is becoming increasingly more difficult, as Western society is now learning from experience.Spain still remains home to a web of radical Algerian, Moroccan and Syrian groups bent on carrying out attacks -- and aiding the insurgency against U.S. troops in Iraq -- a Spanish intelligence chief and a Western official intimately involved in counterterrorism measures in Spain told The Associated Press.
The intelligence chief said there were no phone calls between the Madrid bombers and al-Qaida and no money transfers. The Western official said the plotters had links to other Islamic radicals in Western Europe, but the plan was hatched and organized in Spain. "This was not an al-Qaida operation," he said. "It was homegrown."
From Faith Freedom International, a grassroots worldwide movement of ex-Muslims and all those who are concerned about the rise of the Islamic threat, we have a word of caution for all of us: "Islamic terrorism is inspired by Islamic teachings. We can never get rid of Islamic terrorism unless we defeat the ideology behind it and that is Islam itself."
Islam induces hate backed by lies. Muhammad was a terrorist by his own admission. All Muslims, to the extent that they follow him, are terrorists. Those Muslims who are not terrorists are ignorant of Islam and are not good Muslims. Fortunately they are the majority. We need to rescue them. If you are a good human being, you are not a Muslim. Read this site and if you can't prove me wrong, which you certainly can't, leave this deceitful cult of hate and terror and join mankind. Don't be part of the Umma. Umma is fascism. It is divisive. It induces the hatred of others. Be part of humanity instead. Your ignorance is not an excuse. Pull your head out of the sand and face the truth, like we did.And as the Heritage Foundation pointed out in 2005:
The (term) "war on terror" incorrectly focused too much attention on the military side of the campaign. Other efforts--such as homeland security, law enforcement, and international diplomacy--were not captured by a phrase that conjures an image of soldiers in uniform combating other soldiers in uniform--something that the current struggle decidedly is not.If only our political leaders and the media would focus on these facts, and act accordingly! The term "war on terror" overlooked the ideological component of the struggle. Radical groups employing terrorism against governments and civilians have an agenda, and that is to destroy certain governments, challenge certain Western values of civilization, and erect in their place their own governments and notions of culture and religion.
