Chavez: US has lost in Iraq
Topics: War on TerrorLeftist Venezuelan President Hugo "Motormouth" Chavez told a group of foreign diplomats and government supporters at Miraflores Presidential Palace that US troops have been routed by a strong resistance movement in Iraq but haven't pulled out because officials in Washington won't acknowledge defeat. He then went on to say that the United States would suffer a tremendous military defeat if the Bush administration decided to invade Iran.
Apparently "Little Man/Little Country Chavez" isn't quite up to date with the huge accomplishments of the U.S. since we entered the country (U.S. Aid info as of Dec. 2005) .
What can we say here about the guy? Perhaps we start with calling him a little man who rules a little country (but lots of oil) where the poverty level is actually lower than the 1998 level and whose career has been filled with human rights violations, radical rhetoric, crackdowns on the free press and an attempted coup that cost dozens of lives! And that's just for starters.
Another mouse roaring"? Just the mention of the name Hugo Chavez gets my blood boiling. I hate to bring up the name Pat Robertson, and I'm not suggesting that the "Pat Robertson solution" to the Hugo Chavez problem should be undertaken. However, what is worth bringing up is what prompted Robertson to become so worked up, because nothing's changed and the U.S. certainly wouldn't shed any tears if he were removed from power by some resourceful Venezuelans.
