Cat in Germany dies from Bird Flu
Topics: Health IssuesThe BBC and the Guardian have reported that a cat in Germany has died from the bird flu strain that is now sweeping Europe. This is not the first case of an animal dying from bird flu, but it means that there is a danger to the cat population and an added source of danger for the spread of bird flu to humans. Although so far there are no recorded cases of cat-to-human infection, the German finding will raise concerns of further cross-species transmission.
