The T-Shirt Minister Steps Down
Topics: Understanding Islam
A few days ago Italian Reforms Minister Roberto Calderoli began wearing Mohammed cartoon T-shirts as a protest against the Cartoon Jihad. "We have to put an end to this story that we can talk to these people. They only want to humiliate people. Full stop. And what are we becoming? The civilization of melted butter?" he said.
Today he stepped down after being widely blamed for the insane and deadly clashes in Libya . Apparently, Calderoli did not comprehend the pent-up frustration and resentment of the Libyan Muslims who saw the provocative T-shirts as an excuse to riot and vandalize.
