Muslim cemetery defiled in Denmark
Topics: Understanding IslamHere's a report of an absolutely despicable act - the defilement of Muslim graves, which is totally unacceptable behavior by a person or persons in Denmark. They have acted irresponsibly, disgracefully, and entirely inappropriately. Likely the act was conducted out of frustrations and anger over the Muslim reactions to the cartoons, however this in no way mitigates what they did as being inexcusable and to be condemned.
Copenhagen - Unknown assailants defiled the Muslim section of a cemetery near the Danish town of Esbjerg over the weekend, Radio DR reported on Sunday.Let's hope that the perpetrators are caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent of Danish law. The acts constitute an inappropriate violent reaction to inappropriate violence on the part of Muslims, and neither reaction is acceptable in a civilized, free, and open society that rightfully protects the rights of all it's citizens, that obey it's laws. Violent acts are not acceptable, regardless of the circumstances. Some 25 grave sites were completely destroyed as the attackers smashed or overturned gravestones and trashed plants, DR reported.
Graves in the Christian part of the cemetery remained untouched.
Police said that there was no indication of the attackers' motives or where they came from.
Public life in Denmark has been dominated in recent weeks by the worldwide protests by Muslims over caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed that were originally published in the country's Jyllands Posten newspaper last September.
In terms of carrying out an inappropriate and unacceptable protest that is in fact criminal, the perpetrators of the cemetery defilement are just as guilty as the Muslims that rioted across the world, although reasonable people will recognize that the crime of cemetary defilement is far less a crime than the death threats, burning buildings, and murder carried out by a population of Muslims that in no stretch of the imagination could be considered simply as civilized, peaceful and tolerant citizens carrying out a act of protest.
Although it in no way has any bearing whatsoever on the vileness of this criminal act, we do need to recognize that there is, of course, a difference in the degree of criminality and derangement between cemetery desecration and violent protests resulting in the burning of buildings, death threats, and murder. Should one have difficulty discerning the difference, they reside outside the realm of logical thought characteristic of a modern and civilized society, and perhaps are far more comfortable in a society having a Bedouin mentality and culture.
