Love - A Long Haul Addiction
Topics: Human InterestScientists are finding that love involves an intricate array of chemicals, hormones and physical and emotional reactions, and that both love and lust, come naturally. Those euphoric, I-gotta-have-you feelings of love are sparked not only by the other person's sex appeal, but also by innate chemicals such as adrenaline, dopamine, norepinephrine and phenylethylamine (also found in chocolate). However, "the "awe-inspiring chemical mixture, which, in brain-imaging looks similar to drug addiction, doesn't last," and eventually subside, and it is "Love Potion Number '0' (oxytocin) that is produced with touch and closeness and intimacy.""
