Iran To Fund PA Headed By Hamas
Topics: Middle East News and PerspectivesFrom the AP, Iran offered today to help finance a Palestinian Authority run by Hamas.
The secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani announced the offer after a meeting with Khaled Mashaal, the political leader of the Hamas, in Tehran, the radio said. But this isn't really news is it? As should have been expected, the Arabs and Iranians will stick with Hamas as they always have, and in the end, Hamas will probably end up with more funding than they would have had before Israel and the U.S. decided to shut them off. The administration's approach to handling the Hamas problem makes for bad policy and increased Arab and Iranian support for the terrorist group.
Cal Thomas, a conservative columnist, and Bob Beckelis, a liberal Democratic strategist, are longtime friends, and have often found common ground on issues that lawmakers in Washington cannot, and one of those issues is on Iran, on which they say - "We can't take chances on Iran".
