France: 'Iran of using its nuclear programme as a cover for clandestine military nuclear activity'Topics: Iran
For the first time, France has explicitly accused Iran of using its nuclear program as a cover for clandestine military nuclear activity. In what appears to be a Europe gradually awakening from a long sleep on the Islamic agenda, and particularly that of the Iranian Islamic Republic, France's foreign minister Philippe Douste-Blazy openly stated that "No civil nuclear programme can explain the Iranian nuclear programme - it is a clandestine military nuclear programme. The comment was answered with more of Tehran's typical response that their nuclear program is solely for "peaceful purposes."
However, Iran has lost it's credibility (not that it ever had all that much), and the international community has sent a "very strong message to the Iranians - show reason, suspend all nuclear activities and uranium enrichment. And they're not listening to us." And finally, "for the first time for days, the international community is united. It's not just the Europeans - France, Germany and the British - it's also Russia and China."
Apparently, having the most active state sponsor of Islamic terrorism - perhaps the largest supporter of terrorist groups such as Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad (a wing of Hezbollah), Hamas, and others - being able to include a nuclear arsenal in their list of "toys for terrorists", isn't going down well with the civilized world.
