Cheney's Sitting Duck

Topics: Media, Strange but true

US vice-president Dick Cheney accidentally shot and wounded an elderly companion during a weekend quail hunting trip in Texas, spraying him in the face and chest with shotgun pellets. We continue to hope and pray that Cheney's friend, Harry Whittington, will recover from his wounds. The national story, however, is more about how the incident will be used and exploited by Cheney and Bush detractors.

One aspect of the story that is unclear is why it took 24 hours for the story break.

Check out Brady's press release (is this a joke???).

We've most likely heard the last of this story: Justice Antonin Scalia has not indicated whether he will pull out a of an upcoming Supreme Court case involving Vice President Cheney, following reports the two recently went on a hunting trip and had dinner together. (HT: the Corner)
