Bin Laden Vows Never to Be Captured Alive
Topics: War on TerrorAs most readers will have heard by now, the AP reported yesterday that in a tape that appeared to be a complete version of one that was first broadcast Jan. 19 on Al-Jazeera, Osama bin Laden promised never to be captured alive and accused the U.S. of resorting to the same "repressive" tactics used by Saddam Hussein. He apparently failed to explain how the U.S. has been repressive since Iraq now has a democratically elected government, no thanks to Al-Qaeda's efforts to the contrary, and how any element of repression could compare to the chopping off of heads and thousands of Iraqis murdered by suicide bombers.
Here's to hopes of Osama's promise becoming a self-fulfilling prophesy!
