A chilling warning from Al Qaeda
Topics: War on TerrorThe Saudi branch of Al Qaeda has proudly proclaimed that they were responsible for the attempted attack on an oil facitlity, in what is seen as a change in tactics by Al Qaeda aganst the Saudi royal family. The leadership claimed that they acted on orders of Osama Bin Laden, a Saudi.
Chillling, is that they have vowed that there will be more attacks in the future and that their aim is to disrupt not only the affairs of the royal family, but also the world economy.
Without the help of the Americans the Saudi kingdom would not be as rich from its oil production. It would have remained yet another backward third world nations. It is as if Osama Bin Laden sees himself as being like a prophet of God, for his people are claiming that they are fighting the "Infidel" and that they want the "Infidel" out of their country.
So far, the Saudi security forces are proving to be effective, yet the two cars breached security. A possibility to consider is that the attack was never meant to reach the actual facility (something the chaps hoping to blow themselves to hell and others or the facility with them might not have been given the privilege of knowing). In other words, a trial to see what would happen and how good the security happened to be so that they could continue to plan their tactics to get hold of the fuel and to disrupt oil producton, as well as world procurement of the oil. Consider the next attack, and there will be one, more dangerous and possibly, with lessons learned, more effective. Not a good thing, for the Saudis or the rest of us. It might be time for the House of Saud to consider this War on Terror more of their own, not just the Wests'!
