The Pope On Islam And Democracy
Topics: Understanding IslamOn January 6 I posted on a "fascinating exchange between radio host Hugh Hewitt and Father Joseph Fessio, Provosty of Ave Maria University in Naples, Florida, and a student and friend of Pope Benedict XVI, about the pope's views on the possibility of an Islamic Reformation." Today, An e-mailer directs Hugh Hewitt to this article on the interview he did with Father Fessio.
The article is entitled, "Islam and Democracy, a Secret Meeting at Castelgandolfo," and is a synopsis of a weekend of study on Islam with the pope and his former theology students - with two conflicting versions of how Benedict XVI views the Muslim religion.
I believe that many readers will find it interesting.
