Should Al-Qaeda Be Allowed To Use U.S. Borders As A Security Shield?

Topics: War on Terror

Daniel Clark makes an interesting point at The American Daily:

Liberals, libertarians and "maverick" Republicans are asking whether the U.S. government should be allowed to "spy on Americans." They should instead be asking whether al-Qaeda terrorists should be allowed to use America's borders to shield themselves from surveillance. That's what the effect of abolishing the National Security Agency's "controversial" anti-terror policy would be.
Let me see, protect the civil rights of terrorists and those that support and communicate with them, or protect the life of my family and my fellow non-terrorist Americans? Why is this such a difficult thing for our friends on the Left to understand?

This is a very effective way of framing this issue; I think that many people aren't thinking of this matter in this way.

I clicked your link at 'The Politican Teen' site's blogroll, partly because I recognized the name 'Hyscience' from my past times in the Blogosphere. However, I think that your weblog had a different design back then, and that the url was different; perhaps it was on "...typepad.com"? It could have been that it was a different weblog, using the same name. Keep up the good work here.

If you give the enemy a place of refuge you will never be able to defeat them. Did we not learn this maxim of war in Vietnam?
