Senator Schumer Intentions On Alito - 'Irrelevant'

Topics: Political News and commentaries

On the eve of this week's confirmation hearings, Senator Schumer has warned that if Judge Alito refuses to answer questions on issues that "Democrats deem vital," the chance of a Democratic filibuster will increase. Senator Feinstein echoed the thought that she most likely will filibuster against Alito if she concludes that he'll vote to overturn Roe v. Wade (as usual with the Dems, it's always all about the so-called "right" of a woman to choose to murder her unborn child).

Do conservatives care about what Schumer and Feinstein think or say, and will either of their misguided opinions matter a hoot? Paul at Powerline says no...

Besides, according to the latest Washington Post-ABC News poll, a majority of Americans favor the confirmation of federal appeals court judge Samuel A. Alito Jr. to the U.S. Supreme Court and an even larger proportion believe Alito would not vote to overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1973 high court ruling that legalized abortion.

Since it all comes down to abortion: I wonder how many Americans know that overturning Roe would NOT make abortion illegal, but simply send the issue back to the state legislatures where it belongs?

This is no doubt a fact that the Dems would like to keep secret.
