Kennedy Attacks Alito with Fabricated Charges

Topics: Supreme Court

Michelle Malkin notes what is probably obvious to everyone (Democrats and Republicans alike): Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass. lied during the Senate nomination hearings today.

"In an era when America is still too divided by race and riches, Judge "Alioto" has not written one single opinion on the merits in favor of a person of color alleging race discrimination on the job. In fifteen years on the bench, not one," he said.

The senator failed to mention that Alito voted numerous times in favor of such claimants, and wrote a dissent in one such case. Facts which Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., raised in his opening statement to pointedly refute Kennedy.

The Committee for Justice further outlines Alito’s respectable civil rights record, which Kennedy denied in his public statements.

Some have commented that this reflects desperation, but I see it as Kennedy and Company’s standard operating procedure.
