Doctors in Australia attempt to bring in RU486 by stealth

Topics:

TamboneRU486.jpgDespite the fact that RU486 is neither safe nor effective, Australian gynaecologists in remote areas such as Mildura and Cairns are attempting to bring this form of abortion to Australia by stealth.

What is most disturbing about this is the continued pretence that RU486 has not caused a high level of complications and that an extremely high risk of the women bleeding to death by the use of this drug, is ignored.

In order to circumvent the current arrangement, these doctors are attempting to gain prescriber status so that they can prescribe RU486 for pregnant women. It seems that they are more interested in organizing abortions than they are in ensuring that the young women concerned get sound advice and assistance to carry on with their pregancies and if necessary to put the children up for adoption.

At the same time, the Australian abortion industry has begun to react with their usual spin over the New Zealand study that points to the implication that there is a connection between abortion and mental health. One woman "psychologist" who happens to work for the "fertility clinic" in East Melbourne (probably associated with Bertram Wainer) has claimed that the real problem is what led to the abortion.

However, such comments indicate that these people are failing to inform the patients about the potential risks that comes from the hormonal imbalances caused by a pregnancy, and especially a terminated pregnancy. It would seem that they have not heard about post-natal depression, which is linked to the way in which the hormones are thrown out of balance due to the pregnancy and giving birth.

Considering the nature of RU486, and the fact that it is made up of a progesterone blocker as well as a prostaglandin, it is not appropriate for any professional to overlook the possibility that the change in the hormone levels of a woman terminating her pregnancy through "choice" to claim that this is a safe and effective alternative for women in remote regions.

The MSM is setting out to do its usual snow job on the public, by the publishing of this article as though there was no possibility of harm to the potential patient. It is nothing more than a sleight of hand to present RU486 as though it is safe. As for saying that Australia's rfusal to use RU486 for abortion purposes makes us a laughing stock, well I would say that is poor reasoning, meant to play on the sympathies of an audience that is ignorant about all of the facts surrounding RU486.
