Seventeen Children in 24 years ...
Topics: Human Interest... means an average breather of 8 months between each child. This is the amazing feat accomplished by Vladimir and Znaida Chernenko who will pose for cameras on Thursday to show the world "how big and beautiful a family can be". Quite amazing, really. Although I have to give all the credit to Znaida.
David Chernenko (#17) came into the world on December 7, weighing a healthy 9.4 lbs. (4.3 kg) -- a special Christmas gift the entire family thanks God for.
David is the 9th boy in the Chernenko family and the sixth child in the family born in the United States. More than six years ago, the Chernenko family emigrated from Ukraine after enduring religious persecution. Now living in Sacramento, the Chernenkos attend Bethany Slavic Missionary Church, the largest Russian-speaking church in USA.
Vladimir and Zynaida Chernenko were married 24 years ago when both were 18 years old. One year later, their first child was born and the legacy of this amazing family began. Their 17 children are Sergey (22), Lilia (21), Andrey (19), Dmitry (18), Anatoly (17), Lyudmila (16), Anna (15), Vitaly (13), Oksana (12), Svetlana (10), Inna (9), Vyacheslav (8), Paul (6), Diana (5), Alina (4), Timothy (2), and David (1 week).
We'll post a picture after the photo shoot tomorrow.
