Media Completely Silent On Illegal NSA Leak

Topics: Follies of the Mainstream Media

Scott at Powerline has a post addressing the "flagrantly illegal intelligence leaks that seem to culminate in the NSA story, and refers to the comments of Max Boot on the media's silence over the criminal leak of the highly classified information reported in the New York Times NSA story:

"'Plame platoon' is AWOL on new leaks." Referring to the string of intelligence leaks that seem to culminate in the NSA story, Boot writes:

Most of these are highly classified programs whose revelation could provide real aid to our enemies -- far more aid than revealing the name of a CIA officer who worked more or less openly at Langley, Va. We don't know what damage the latest leaks may have done, but we do know that past leaks about U.S. successes in tracking cellphones led Al Qaeda leaders to shun those devices.

So I eagerly await the righteous indignation from the Plame Platoon about the spilling of secrets in wartime and its impassioned calls for an independent counsel to prosecute the leakers. And wait...And wait...

And we'll all be waiting a long time before we hear about anything other than anti-administration rhetoric to support whatever benefits a disruptive (to the War on Terror) agenda of the Democratic party's left-wing core.

As I wrote yesterday, "Thanks to what is certain to have been a politically motivated traitor in the NSA, with sympathies resting with the Democratic Left, Al-Qaeda terrorists in charge of penetrating U.S. national security are better off this week than last." From an Al-Qaeda mouthpiece:

"Use their systems, passports, citizenship, laws, traditions, books and media, create internal divisions among them, and inflict defeat on the kuffars [infidels], for in the current balance of power, all we need to do is to use their weaknesses as our strength." - Abul ala', comment posted in the Al-Ansar chat room, September 2005.
Yet, instead of recognizing that "Revealing classified information is illegal, alerts our enemies, and endangers our country," from the New York Times and others, it is all about "spying on Americans rather than being about gathering information on terrorists."

Media wants Congress to create another agency like CIA that reports to them on intelligence oversight, like DOJ, but their own.

They are inept at foreign policy, so no on is going to bother.
