HarryTho 12/22 Natalee Holloway Update And Commentary
Topics: Natalee HollowayThis evening, we will discuss the opportunity to re-interview Joran van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers.
As has been reported by the cable news media and the Associate Press (AP), Joran van der Sloot is home from college in the Netherlands for the holidays in Aruba. The AP provides this announcement:
AOL News: Top News - Dutch teen who was detained in Natalee Holloway case returns to Aruba
ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AP) - A Dutch youth who was detained in connection with the disappearance of a U.S. teen in Aruba returned to the Caribbean island on Wednesday.
Joran van der Sloot, who has been attending college in the Netherlands, met his parents at the airport and left without speaking to waiting reporters.
It was not known how long he would stay on the island or whether he would meet with authorities investigating the May 30 disappearance of Natalee Holloway.
Aruban law enforcement officials, who have said they are still pursuing the investigation, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
What becomes alarming in the AP release is that the Aruban authorities would not comment on the possibility of re-interviewing Joran van der Sloot. This statement by the AP seems to run counter to a statement aired on the Rita Crosby Show by Aruban spokesperson Steve Cohen:
Aruba Truth
Last night on 'Rita Cosby Live & Direct,' Steve Cohen confirmed the arrival of Joran van der Sloot in Aruba and that he and the Kalpoe brothers will be re-questioned within the next 10 days.
Steve Cohen: It is expected that he (Joran) will be re-questioned somewhere in the next 10-day period. I doubt that they will bring him back for questioning immediately, but it will be in that period. And also, it is expected the Kalpoes will also be brought in for questioning.
I do want to make the distinction for you and your audience between questioning and rearrest. This is a questioning procedure that Chief Dompig is going to go through with them because as they've analyzed the timeline, they've found some other discrepancies and they want to review these discrepancies with the three suspects.
COSBY: Hey, Steve, what are those discrepancies exactly?
COHEN: Well, I think it's mostly timeline discrepancies, Rita. As you look at their testimony and their interrogations of where they were at different times between 1:30-something in the morning and between 3:30 in the morning, these are very important two or three-hour blocks that the investigators want to review in detail. I can't go much further than that because, obviously, we don't want to give away the nature of the interrogation.
By the way, the attorneys of these boys are aware that questioning was likely to occur within the next few week periods. So this is not a surprise to anyone.
Please note that the concentration of the intended re-interview of the suspects concerns a timeline, hereinabove mentioned as 1:30 to 3:30 AM on the morning in question. In an earlier release, Police Chief Dompig expressed an interest in a timeline from 1:00 AM to 8:00 AM on the morning in question. This timeline was supposed to be explored with the Mountain Brook teens by the FBI.
What we could be observing in the sudden retraction of the Aruban law enforcement is the lack of the exploration of the 1:00 AM to 8:00 AM timeline from the Mountain Brook teens. Without further input from the Mountain Brook teens, a re-interview of Joran van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers may prove fruitless and unwarranted by judicial oversight.
Now, it goes without saying that the Twitty-Holloway camp will commence firing their barrage of insults at the Aruban law enforcement for refusing to interview the suspects, if in the event that none are re-interviewed over the holidays, and Joran returns to college in the Netherlands. However, the fault may well lie with the FBI's inability to get past the plethora of hurdles and roadblocks intended to derail the questioning of the Mountain Brook teens. Already, we have witnessed a month go bye without one interview of the Mountain Brook teens. Certainly, the FBI is aware of the timeliness of their interviews of the Mountain Brook teens.
In sense, we could be witnessing a double bind* in which the Alabama legislature demands a boycott of Aruba for not pursuing an active investigation into the disappearance of an Alabama teenager whilst, at the same time, forces in cahoots with the Alabama legislature are derailing all FBI efforts to speak with the parties of most interest in the case of the teenager's disappearance. Aruba cannot continue their investigation, because of underhanded political tactics ongoing in Alabama and Washington, DC; whereas, the Twitty-Holloway camp continues to lambaste Aruba with allegations of incompetence and cover up. And, more importantly, more US state governors join Alabama's illegal boycott.
*The Double Bind - Gregory Bateson, NLP
One almost gets the feeling that Alabama just wants Aruba to sacrifice three of their residents, without proof of their guilt, in order to satisfy the blood lust and lynch mob frenzy of the Alabama residents. If Aruba refuses, then Alabama will starve Aruba's tourist industry and demonize their citizens as international outcasts: kidnappers, murderers and rapists. Joe Mommama (Philly Joe) already has circulated posters, stating precisely those aspirations.
It would appear that Alabama Governor Bob Riley has a few more concerns than an illegal boycott. It is but a matter of time, before social and moral outrage descend upon him from the good people of the United States of America. Despite his lunatic fringe behavior in the state of Alabama, the rest of this good country does aspire to some better than a lynch mob mentality for justice. Actually, we demand it.
Rita Crosby of MSNBC News interviewed Beth Twitty and Steve Cohen.
Beth Twitty said the re-questioning was long overdue, and is optimistic about the outcome. She claims that Congressman Bacchus has offered the Aruban law enforcement whatever assistance that they desire. In Beth's terms, all the Arubans need do is to pick up the phone and ask. She admits that she has to have faith in the Aruban justice system. Of course, she closes with the Arubans have admitted that the three suspects are guilty.
Steve Cohen comes on next and concurs that Beth is optimistic. Steve remains reserved. He explains the re-questioning as the first step in a long process. He has no definite date for the questioning; however, he feels that the investigators are adamant about holding the questioning.
In response to Rita's question concerning attendance to the questionings, Steve informs her that an interrogator and an attorney for the suspects will be present for each questioning session. The attorney may ask for a pause where he can talk with his client in confidentiality, then the interview would continue. It is the same process in which the suspects were involved during their last 80 days of under suspicion period. They are familiar with the procedure.
Currently, Steve says the interrogators and attorneys for the suspects are negotiating a convenient time for the interviews so as to not interfere with anyone's holidays.
Comment: As in the past interviews, the suspects can refuse to talk to the interrogators.
Joran Van Der Sloot Blog emailed us yesterday that he had some interesting images.
Aloha for now, but as usual, will meet some of you later in the comments.

I was reading around tonight and I hadn't seen this post. I thought you might want to see it since it does speak to the issue of time.
PostPosted: Thu Oct 13, 2005 9:19 pm Post subject: I still cannot leave this behind (personnal story) Reply with quote
I have been insulted a lot a CTV about this (it was my first topic on the NH board at CTV medio/end june), but I still cannot leave behind what happened on Aruba while I was there on holiday.
I was in Aruba the first two weeks of june.
The second (or first?) night anyway we were in the hotel, my boyfriend was tired and went to sleep, I slept the whole trip and felt very awake so I went walking in the casino of the hotel (Renaissance hotel).
Very crowdy, nice music, and I needed to ATM some money.
It was about 1-1:30 am, and I went to the ATM at the casino, I had to wait since in front of me a young woman was buisy at the ATM.
She was standing in front of me and I saw her backsite (jeans trousers or skirt with little holes in it, and a green or blue shirt (no idea if they had sleeves).
Behind the ATM is a black mirror, so I could see her face, I would have guesses she was 20-22 years old.
She took forever, I was kind of fed up, she might have tried to ATM 10 times or more.
I waited all this time, and while thinking, please hurry up, I was standing behind her, and of course in a way I observed her (not like a guy would, I did not check her out, I have no idea if her skirt or trousers were short or long).
She had blonde hair, a bit longer than shoulder length, hair was 'windy' (not just modelled with a brush).
I have waited for maybe 15 minutes (it felt like an hour), the young woman behaved strange, she once hit the ATM machine, moved in a nervous way (I assumed she lost money in the casino or something like that).
She came across as strange and nervous, after the ATM refused her 10 times or more she finally left.
The next morning I was packing my bags to go down to the pool (my boyfriend was there allready since he went to sleep earlier than me).
While packing my bags CNN was on (sound low, airco on), and while walking through the room I saw a big picture of the young woman I saw the night before at the ATM (or better I thought it was her).
But immediately after I saw her, there was another news item, so I did not know why she was on tv.
I deceided to wait an hour for the CNN news to restart, and hoped they would rerun the item to see what was up with this young woman.
An hour later they showed her again, and said she was missing in Aruba!!!
And that is where I was, how big are the odds?
I immediately took the phone and asked for the manager his name is Nelson.
I told him what I saw on tv (I had no idea there was a girl missing in Aruba) and what I saw and had happened the night before.
He asked me at what time, and told me he would look at the casino tapes from midnight untill 3 am, to see if this was the girl.
He told me he would update me, but I told him that was not necessairy (I did not wanted to come across as someone looking for sensation), I only said if they needed me they knew my roomnumber.
I did not hear from him anymore while I was there, and followed the case a bit on tv (we were out a lot).
When I was home, about 5 days later or so I posted the above on the CTV board, and many people got angry with me, I should have gone to the police etc. etc.
I really felt pressure (she wasn't found yet) so I called the hotel and asked for the Nelson the manager or the head of security.
I spoke with the head of security and he seemed to had some knowledge asked me to call back later.
I did, he told me that Nelson had looked at the tapes, and called the police afterwards (so I assume Nelson saw the same striking ressemblance I saw).
The police had come to the hotel the same afternoon to pick up the tapes, and had said they would also go to the bank (?) to get the tape/info of the ATM.
This is the whole story, untill today I don't know if the young woman I saw was Natalee, at that morning I saw CNN I was sure it was here, but after all these weeks I feel maybe it was a young woman who looked a lot like her.
It is remarkable though that the manager called the police after he saw the tapes, so I still wonder untill today.
The above is the reason why I am still focussed on this case, allthough it has little to no attention at all in my country.
Sometimes I ask myself, why did I not talked to her, or asked if I could help her something like that.
But maybe it wasn't her, after all this time I find it hard to believe it was her.
Who knows.
Thread is still on CTV somewhere.

Well this really summed up where we are at - they want to talk to J2K about their timeline from 1:30 to 3:30 a.m. but really until they talk to MB teens and their timeline up til 8 a.m. there may not be any real reason to firm things up with J2k - but if MB refuses to cooperate or the FBI does not coordinate and they dont bother to speak with J2K again then the Twitts will harp on the failure of not doing so, but in reality the hold up is with MB- this seems to be a chess match - and we are totally stalled! Perhaps Natalee with babe in hand will appear in 2006 and we can resolve the best way possible!

Just like in the States, everybody on the Dutch teritory does have their constitutional rights and obligations. To re-intervieuw the three suspects, the public procecuter MUST have NEW evidences. This is not an midle east country where you can just pick up peolple and torture them. Beth and Jug most live with the reality that they are to blame for many pitfalls in the investigation. They should have stay away from the media and cooperate with the authority. FBI, Dutch experts and local detectives did their utmost best to solve this case. We strongly believe that there is no crime and that Natalee just ran away from her familie. Beth denies this but still can not proof the opposite.
Regarding the comment of Natalee being detected at a gas station and a ATM machine I can say that till the day of today the tapes cannot determined who the person was at the ATM machine. She had sunglasses and she wore a baseball cap. That particular person DID HAVE MANY in common with Nathalee. What amamze me that the e-mail of Natalee was used after the date of her dissapearance and till the day of tday nobody knows who used it. In Aruba a taxidriver ran into the police station claiming that she dropped a girl and a guy somewhere in downtown in the evening hours. The girl never showed her face and she also had a baseball cap on which match with the baseball cap shown on the video of the atm machine. If Natalee is alive she most show up one day. Many young girls ran away from their family all over the US. For me there is no reason to believe that Natalee might be an exception. Aruba was search from point to point by the Dutch Marines, Local police, Royal Airforce, FBI, Equusearch and other search groups. No body was found, no evidence so far. Why do I have to believe that Natalee is dead? As an Aruban and as a former law enforcement agent, I never knew a case like this before in the Dutch history. About the credibilty of the investigators I have to say that police officers in Aruba and under the Dutch system spend over 16 months in training before being send on the street. FBI, DEA, DAS, and many other special investigative teams from the US, Europe and South America participate constantly in trainings on the Dutch territoty including Aruba. The FOL based in Aruba is on of the largest cooperation between the US and the Aruban police to fight drugs and money laundry in the Caribbean and South America. There is no reason to belive that the investigation failed. In the opposite, Aruba has a extremely low crime percentage because of the capability of their police force. Beth and Jug are not law experts. This is not a Hawaii Five O serie neither another chapter of Miami Vice. Beth pretend to be one of the Charlie's Angels and tried several times to ruine the system by intimadating the authorities. If this case was in the States, then you all agree with me that Beth and Jug could have been arrested for obstuction of Justice.

I remember reading somewhere, most likely on RWV or BHS, because those were the places I was reading back at the beginning, someone saying that if someone in Aruba turned themselves in to authorities saying they were victims of abuse or domestic violence, they would be sheltered and maybe moved around to avoid detection. For some reason the poster was connecting this to Natalee. I wish I knew where I read it and who said it. **IF** Natalee did not feel safe returning home, might she be sheltered in such a way, and thereby avoid detection when all the searching was going on? And then, perhaps assisted in leaving Aruba? Just a thought.

Rita had some fellow on her show who was using new technology to measure the stress? level of people who might not be telling the truth. She ran some of Jorans' interview past him, and of course, his answers were similar to statements of slander put out by the Twitty troupe over the past few months. Was this ever used before? I don't recall it being used for Michael J., Bonets, Petersen, etc. Where did they dig this guy up from with this piece of machinery? Alabama? Is he another of those low lifes Beth seems to pick up?

Dear Little Bo Peep:
As incredible as this reads, I have never heard of a report that Natalee may have been accessing an ATM around 1:30 AM. The only ATM accessing, reported on any blogs, was one alleging that Paulus van der Sloot drew out some money on the morning in question.
Having said that, this information does fit in nicely within a runaway theory. It seems to eliminate the hoodwink scenario altogether. If Natalee needed money, she intended to do something with it. To me, since Natalee did not spend a lot of time gambling (or it was never reported that she gambled a lot on the trip), then I doubt the money was needed for gambling purposes. I believe the rumor mills would announced her indebtedness at a casino by now. Besides, ATMs have limits per withdrawal per day. She could not have drawn enough to travel off of Aruba.
The taxi driver story, likewise, seems to conform with the reporter's rendition of events. Natalee went downtown with someone. For what? What could you do downtown with small money from an ATM at say 2:00 AM? Whatever that could be is probably what she was doing. Somehow, I doubt she wanted the money for an offering at a local chapel.
With Aloha,
Harry

Harry:
If she needed money from an ATM why would she have left the $150+ dollars in her room in her billfold?? I don't understand that and I don't understand the cell phone and the passport being there just so vulnerable to anyone picking them up. I guard my cell and passport when traveling out of the country and have always assumed everyone does the same thing. You hear warnings about keeping it safe all the time.
I do recall information about PVD getting money from an ATM, but never how much or what time it was. If in fact he assisted Natalee with getting money, I wonder how much he withdrew that night. I've always thought he knew more than has been said, but I never put it together like that -- that he might have been getting money to assist her and it would be hard to trace, since perhaps her card had been blocked or whatever if the Lazlo poster is right about having seen her at another casino. Very interesting. Moey

I went to JVS blog site and noticed alot of the pics show them flashing gang signs. Does anyone have any insite to this. May not be important just curious.

The Joran blog site has absolutely NOTHING I repeat NOTHING to do with Joran. The person that does the site does not know Joran or have any contact with him at all - so anything gang related or anything at all posted there that might look bad is made to make him look that way - it is not his doing!

Dear moey:
It seems the 150 one-dollar bills remained in her wallet, because she detested her mother arranging her life for her. Those 150 one-dollar bills were an insight into why Natalee ran away. She disliked her mother's intrusion into her life.

Dear Jan:
We have known of the identity of the Joran van der Sloot site for quite some time. The site has been cleaned up considerably from what was posted there several months ago. We realize that in no manner does it reflect the actual Joran van der Sloot, interestingly in much the same manner that the many pro-Natalee Holloway sites fail to represent the actual Natalee Holloway or the Kingdom of Mountain Brook.

Reading on one block. Being involve in some of the investigation matters is another thing. I am from Aruba and I have been in contact for many months when yhis thing was going on in doing some work for a radiostation on the isalnd and for one of the american t.v. Have you ever been told about a small visit of Beth in late night hours at a seccluded area on on the north side of Aruba? There is a long list of questions that we do have for Beth here in Aruba. She was not supposed to leave the police station and went straight to the airport. Nobody can proof that Natalee's stuff was found in the room. In the opposite, her own classmates brought her luggage to the front desk with the remark "natalee is not coming..." Who can answer my question.....Why is Beth not coming back to Aruba? Do U really believe that she is too busy executing a boycott to Aruba??? Don't believe all you read on the web. Beth couldn't answer the questions why she release the flyer "Natalee this is Hootie. My cell number is ^&@&&@ Please call me, we can talk". Two days after she was questions regarding the content of the flyer she instructed to replace them with antoher flyer stating that Natalee has been kidnapped....Now is she dead, has she been kidnapped and by who, or did she just ran away??? What happened with the story of Dr. Phil finding Natalee in Mexico in a sextrade businnes place? If you really want the thruth then you should come to Aruba and read the long list of some interesting stories of Beth and Jug. Contacts in order to receive funds has been made with the most desireable person in Aruba to mentioned mr. Jossie Mansur. A local millionaire whom visa has been revoked to enter the U.S. due to moneylaundry and drugtrafficking. Mr. Mamana who also has a criminal record in the U.S. Beliee me folks this Natalee storie smells and will always smells stinky. Nobody ever threathen Beth and Jug while on the island. The moved around on their own wining and dinning and even attending Heineken Music Festival. Which grieving mother would do that???? Answer my questions and do me a favor...tell Beth that she will always be welcome on our island. We will always treat her with the same respect that we treat ourselves, however she will not receive any complemantary stuff anymore, she will have to pay the bills herself now. And regaring the director of Equuesearch...this is the truth. Our local restaurant provided three meals a day for each of them. They spend the night in the casino, gambling and drinking. Who paid for that? The Arubans did. We collected some money to donate to equuesearch. They arrive on Aruba with nothing in their pocket. How many days did they stay on the island and who paid for that. Average roomrates in Aruba in the september october months are US$ 150,00 per night, with excpention of the luxurynames such as Marriot and Hyatt. As an Aruban I do not resent Beth or Jug. We pray for them and for Natalee. The socalled boycott can not be measured at this very moment because over 65% of the rooms in Aruba are timeshare units and we enjoy a high repeated guest ratio. We receive tourist year round from the U.S., Europe and South America. With the introduction of the Euro, Aruba recieved a higher percentage of Euroepan tourist this year compare to the last years. U.S. visitors are keep going up and the average nightstay is that of 14 nights. God bless you Harry!

Hawaiian Legislator Calls For Boycott Of Alabama Following Hemp Bust
September 18, 1997, Honolulu, HI: Hawaiian Legislator Cynthia Thielen (R-Kailua) called for a
statewide boycott of Alabama after learning that state law enforcement officials arrested two shop owners for selling products made from hemp fiber. "If the district attorney there in Birmingham is going to equate hemp with marijuana..., then Alabama should be avoided like the plague," Thielen said. Thielen is a staunch proponent of hemp's industrial uses and sponsored legislation this spring to allow for the domestic cultivation of the crop."As an alternative material, there is nothing more versatile right
now," she said.Thielen sent a letter to Governor Fob James informing him that she is encouraging
hemp-related industries in Hawaii to avoid doing any business in Alabama. "This is a business
development issue," she explained. Business owners Angela Guilford and her husband Jeff Russell were charged with trafficking in marijuana after law enforcement raided her small shop in July and seized hemp-based clothing, jewelry, and sterilized seeds. Jefferson County District Attorney David Barber said the charges are justified because the state's trafficking statutes define marijuana "anything that can be
identified as coming from the plant." Federal law allows for the possession and importation of hemp fiber and products."Some areas are a little looser about marijuana, and we're not," Barber said. When told about Rep. Theilen's comments and that she often dons hemp clothing, Barber replied that "she'd have a problem" if she visited Alabama. Guilford and Russell have a preliminary hearing scheduled for September 23.
This is the same David Barber that went to meeting in Washinton with Spencer Bachus. I went to high school with him he is and always has been a bit of a ninny.
Harry can you find out anything from Hawaii end about outcome.
Merry Christmas to all - except Bob Riley, Sonny Perdue, Mike Huckabee, and Videt Carmichael.

I suspect that Natalee did not carry around the $150 in crisp one dollar bills because it was a fairly bulky package. We've all seen a pack of a hundred bills at the bank or on TV, it is almost an inch thick. Add fifty percent on that, and you have enough to really bulk out that purse.
Posted by: Gary at December 23, 2005 4:58 PM
Dear Gary:
If Natalee were as astute as her parents and the Kingdom of Mountain Brook students claimed, then I would have thought that she might have transported them in small quantities ... say 10 one-dollar bills at a time in her pockets or a smaller bill folder (jogger's folder), as she was directed by her mother for tips. She didn't. Accordingly, either she was not that astute, or she behaved as I have theorized.

You mention several things in your post that I have never read anywhere. Can you elaborate more on Beth's visit to the other part of the island and especially any information regarding the items in Natalee's room. I agree that something smells in this matter, but the question is where is the smell coming from? Thanks. Moey

This blog is a joke. "Harry," you are a fraud, in my opinion.
This young woman is dead, she did not run off, she is not raising a baby somewhere, and all this flippin chatter is brainless.
If it were my daughter, there would be many other topics for you to discuss, beyond so-called casino bills and generosity. Be thankful they were so nice. Many others would not be.
Good luck to you all.

Dear a.i.c.:
The guy was Richard Parson. He was a self-proclaimed voice analyst. We mentioned him a few editorials back. What Richard does is record someone's voice, then he passes the voice recording through his contraption. A readout appears on a linear graph that resembles voice impressions that we have seen on media displays from other experts. Richard, then, interprets the irregularities on the graph. Apparently, his decades of intensive research into voice graphs (audio graphology?) have provided him with an ability to decipher the little deviations and predict what others (those he is trying to impress) would find obvious.
Personally, I found Rita Crosby's psychic, Allison Dubois, the most convincing in the cable news network's attempt to revive a renaissance of the Dark Ages. My only regret is that the psychic neglected to toss her chicken bones and interpret how they landed in the soil. Truly, clairvoyance is a wondrous art! However, it is only persuasive in our age when accompanied by a graph-spitting contraption. I applaud MSNBC News for the entertainment.

Hmmm...
I am wondering IF someone DID get a call from Natalee, and told them she wasn't returning..so that person contacted Beth, who in turn called her brother-in-law Jar Twitty, who works for AmSouth Bank, where Natalee could of possibly had her accounts, and cancelled her ATM?? Doesn't seem an unreasonable theory.

I find it quite infuriating that the A troupe descended onto your Island and took advantage of all of you as you mentioned, with no appreciation, but unjust complaints. I would hope that any of those things you mentioned about the "secret" activities of Beth are also well known to the ALE.
Merry Christmas to all of you.

"Kindgom of Mountain Brook?"
Posted by: jewels at December 23, 2005 8:32 PM
There are two witness in the case. One is a reporter and the other one is a front desk clerk. The front desk clerk mentioned clearly that other students brought to belongings of Natalee to the lobby and made statement "Natalee is not coming...". About Beth visit to the north side of the island is a fact. The cabdriver made statements publicly regarding this and Beth never reacted neither denied this. What raise more curiosity is that FOX arrived almost the same day as Beth and Jug on the island. It sounds silly but we as Arubans thought that Natalee was from a very rich family out of the U.S. Later we learn that some of the crewmembers of the Twitty family was going around the island requesting donations to pay for their stay. Many potential people in Aruba took part in this including a local bank that donated over US$ 30.000,00. One afternoon over 2000 people, most public workers took half day off to be part of the search. Beth never took the time to thank them for this. The local authorities requested in local papers not to be part of the u.s. media circus because this was causing some draw back for the investigation. I insist that Beth is a good actor. She cries during the day in front of the camera's and party like crazy during the night. As a native of Aruba I believe that this blog is not a joke. I am sure that Doug don't even know before about Aruba. He's stupid to believe that Natalee is dead. If Natalee is dead then show us the body so we can close the case! For the others supporting Aruba we thank you the utmost for this. all the best in the coming day and god bless you all.

What IF there is NO body to GIVE? Seriously...what IF Natalee is alive somewhere...what do you want the Aruban's to do? Make a wax replica?

Dear greenwing and all:
I have not heard anything for quite some time on the blog, so I suspect we may be shutdown for the entire holidays. Also, we have some people complaining that Internet bandits have been stealing articles from the useless-knowledge blog and randomly posting them on our Natalee Holloway update. This may be a cause for the early shutdown, as well.
Anyway, it has been a pleasure entertaining you.
May a warm tropical breeze embrace you all!

Harry,
With regard to the woman at the ATM ~
Could this have been the blond woman that was mentioned in the VF article? The one that early in the investigation was followed by reporters? This from pages 159-160? The people in the KIA as reported by Renfro & Carlos? They first saw her outside an ATM?
Also, thinking of the letter to PvdS. Could the salival DNA have come from a toothbrush?
I've never seen an answer to some of my questions about NH's toothbrush. Was her DNA found on the toothbrush sent to the NFI? How was the toothbrush taken into evidence and tracked? Did the parents identify the toothbrush once it was tested?
Sperm, from my reading in this case, is readily available from used condoms at a number of places in Aruba (and of course, elsewhere in the world) that are considered beaches or meeting places for lovers, etc. Nameless DNA if you will. I would have felt much more comfortable with the letter if she had thought to include a recent picture (photo booth at mall), fingernail clipping, or a few strands of hair, with the root still attached. Much more reliable in my humble opinion.
If the body is gone, what may remain of her DNA? A few strands on a hairbrush? DNA from a toothbrush? Did they ever get a good sample of her dna? Confirmed with checks against other family members?
Thanks!

"Anyway, it has been a pleasure entertaining you."
So that's all that it has been, has it, Harry; just entertainment?
Posted by: Dayo Gould at December 24, 2005 1:42 AM
Dear iwabwu:
I cannot tell you about this woman and the ATM sighting. Actually, it is the first I read of her.
Dr. Baden, the forensic scientist, explained that DNA could be pickup by someone brushing against her toothbrush. As for the results of the DNA test on the toothbrush, all that was mentioned is that it did not match the DNA samples taken of the three suspects. I understand that the Dutch Forensic Institute (DFI) conducted the DNA test on the toothbrush.
What was included within the letter was never released; however, the fact that DNA was mentioned seems to me that something accompanied (hair sample, etc.) the letter in order to make a positive DNA match.
Currently, what the Dutch authorities have released as to having in their possession are samples of the DNA of the parents in order to create a near match with Natalee. If they have something of Natalee's to insure a positive match, then they have not released that information.
What I can suggest to you is that whenever information is released by the authorities, try to imagine what would logically or normally accompany that information, and you can generally deduce what the authorities actually have.
With Aloha,
Harry

Dear Donna,
Our officials was supported 24/7 by the FBI and the Dutch Special Invetigation Team. No body was found and there is no single technical evidences that a crime has been committed. I want you to tell me now why you still belive that there might be a dead body here in Aruba? If that was the case, why is Beth and Jug running around in the States spreading rumors instead of being here in Aruba trying to find the remains of their daughter. The Equusearch and other searching team was here. They didin't find anything. Dutch Airforce Jets with special equipments flew all over the island, the only grave that they found was that one of a dog that was buries nearby the dunes at the northside. Now if you still believe you're the smartes one, pay your ticket and come to Aruba and join us in the investigation that is still ongoing. Donna, I am sure that if you have been in Aruba before you'll know the structure of the island. Reading your post I conclude that you'd never been here and cannot afford to be here neither. Aruba is not for everybody. At least not for people like you Donna. I have to be straight with you and with many of those that has been posting comments just because you heard or read the side of the story given by Beth. Our people are humble and our justice system does not give the media much onformations in order to avoid confusion and sensationalism. And that is exactly what Beth is doing right now with this case. We still wonder what had happen to Natalee.
And believe me Donna, we still believe and are confident that Beth Twitty MUST retrn to Aruba and answer some questions. She is allowed to come with all U.S. media that she desired. We do have some issues that we want her to clear out. As long as she don't do that you and many others will believe that Aruba is incompetent is solving this case. Rememeber this statement: "The case will be solve and I can assure you and all americans that there was NO crime committed here on Aruba".

I want to mention that instead of Donna I had to write Jewelss. Sorry Donna! My mistake. Merry X-mas everybody...no snow in Aruba yet. Beth might bring some!

As usual, I go to bed and wake up far too early, drink too much coffee, and sometimes wish there was no internet, like things were in my twenties when I was a kid. I just finished wrapping more presents, another being for my future daughter in law. Don't ask me how much the loan was for the ring alright? One of my kids became engaged early this week. His future wife is so pretty, 22 years old, so mature for her age. She came into my life, firstly my son's, a year and a half ago. Every time I see her, we hug, and I pick her up off the floor while we do so. She's an incredible girl, and will only become more so. She's already past the point of being realistic. I'm almost jealous. My son is a very lucky man.
This morning, I decided to give her, among other less important things, for xmas that is, something that has been very dear to me for many years. An 11x14 picture I created in Art School about 30 years ago. No-one will ever know how this feels except me.
I want to enclose the cover letter I am giving her with this portrait of the universe that I somehow concocted, against overwhelming odds. I love her dearly, I love my kids dearly as well, and it's Christmas. Let me get away with this ok?
I wish you all well .........
Merry 2005 Christmas Jenny dear ...
I initially believe that I should state one fact before I explain why this perhaps silly looking present belongs to you now. Believe it or not, you are presently cursed. If I ever hear or realize that you have lost, destroyed or otherwise neglected this picture in any way, I will hunt you down, dead or alive, and hug you until you no longer have a breath left within you.
I drew this picture about 30 years ago, 1975 or 76, and I have NEVER, EVER thought of parting with it. Not until now. I was Johnny's age when I somehow managed to procure this endeavour that was "forced" upon me by my teacher, while I was on gorgeous green mescaline, along with one of my best friends at that time, (God rest his soul) in one of my many 5 hour photojournalism-arts classes. In this particular class, we were simply asked to draw in pen, inks or charcoal, how the day had put us. What did we feel ... It didn't matter what we felt. We were asked to show it.
This picture is a combination of extreme emotions, duress, stress, laughing, intense focus, fuzziness ... too many things to possibly describe while under flourescent lights, with friends and non friends that were made in class, most of whom I could not bear to dare look at during this time for fear of laughing or glaring at, while under the influence of one of the most beautiful psychadelics that my friends and I had ever snared since purple microdot acid. The friendly intensity of this mescaline is not the only reason why I treasure this picture.
I loved a girl, my own age, when I was 19, and we had a baby. Fiona. I unfortunately was too immature to take on the responsibility of this venture. I'm sure Johnny has told you all about this. Denise, on the other hand, was not. We remained half lovers and extreme friends until I became married to Johnny's mother and moved from Montreal. Had I been a smarter man, Johnny would not be here. I've never loved a woman more in my whole life than Denise. I still dream of her. I still dream of Fiona. I always have, and always will. I've tried to look her up, but I can't find her or my daughter.
When I constructed this picture in class, I remember only so well how long it took me to touch the paper. I tried to feel what I felt and make a positive decision. What I felt became Denise and I ... a black heart and a sun slipping inside it. I will never forget most of this picture. I changed the initial idea for one reason. I thought it would look too "corny". From then on, the whole idea became linear. In the end, when I remember staring, feeling ... I can't relay how I actually felt ... I just knew something was wrong. My picture was too free flowing. Then I closed one of the canals. That was it. This was my life. This picture was graded 10 out of 10.
I love you very much ... DaDa ...

To All:
Just some updates on the effectivenss of the Alabama boycott:
The Amigoe Newspaer reports that the American Parma Group from Houston, TX just bought out 51% of the Banco di Caribe of Curacao. The Bank of the Netherlands Antilles (central bank) has approved the sale and the appointment of Bank of America's Steven Graybill (American) as the new Chairman of the Board of the Banco di Caribe.
The new Board of Directors (RvC) consists of big names. Other than Ansary, who is chairman of the Parma Group and has close ties with the republican party of President George Bush, the members are: Jack Kemp, former American member of Congress and vice-president candidate; Frank Carlucci, chairman-emeritus of the Carlyle Group; John Macomber, former chairman of the United States Export Import Bank and manager of Lehman Brothers; Hassan Ali Mehren, former chairman of the Economic Advisors of the Aruban government; James Crystal, chairman of Frank Crystal & Co., one of the biggest insurance brokers in the US.

Comment: Apparently, these individuals must have missed the word about the Alabama boycott. Do you suppose that they failed to get the concurrence from the Kingdom of Mountain Brook?

Thank you for posting this article. It seems that even from bad (evil?) some good can come, even if that good is only the bringing to light, the darkness that exists.

Humph
Just read the NY Post article. The writer claims that when it appeared that the culprit might be a white boy, the story dropped from the headlines.
Which headlines were those? the one's in N.Y. perhaps, becuase they have enough news and crime to deal with and they will cover CURRNT news, but this writer obviously does not keep up with events or watch the cable news networks.
I do agree with his premise of racism and predjudice, only it is being aimed at the people of Aruba as a whole, rather than two individual suspects. That is a phenomena that is certainly worth examination and analysis, I would imagine.
The fact that an entire nation is now the victim of a propaganda machine to rival the Nazi's and that the same mentality that marched 6 million Jews into the ovens is being directed against a people that only did their best for the family is absolutely frightening, IMHO.
The levels of ignorance and blind bigotry being displayed by the governors and the people of the states that propagate this injustice makes me embarrassed to be an American.
I can only say it is due to the wonderful nature of the Aruban people that they never rebuke me for my origins, still treat me with the warmth and kind hearts that they always have, and welcome me and all Americans that visit their island as they have always, with sincere, open hearts.
The injustice of these events is absolutely outragous. I have lived with these people for 25 years, and I know that what is being spread about them in the states is absolutele lies, and more than once, since the beginning of this debacle, my children have thanked me for raising them in Aruba. I can only look at the mentality being displayed by the people from the southern states that are involved with this case, so that on this holiday I also give thanks that my children have grown up in Aruba, and are celebrating the holday here.
I am going to try and put this all behind me for the rest of the day, and enjoy the spirit of the holiday, a long walk on one of our beautiful clean white beaches in Aruba, looking at the incredibly vibrant blue of the sky and sea should do it, I think.
A wonderful Chrisnukah to you all.

Dear scubajap:
Just to clarify your post, I will add a few words. First, and for the most part, the NAZIs did not march the Jews to the ovens, they used trains. The NAZIs took Jewish people from their home and amassed the in crowded ghettos. When availability arose, the Jews were herded to cattle cars, packed in and denied water and food for at least three days while they were carted about the railroad tracks of Eastern Europe. Denial of food and water would make the Jews more pliable and willing to cooperate.
The trains would bring the Jews to designated disembarkation areas when a "Ramp Doctor" would determine, based upon physical conditions which Jews would be employed for forced labor. It was a one-glance decision by a certified member of the NAZI medical community. Those not selected for labor were hurried to a change area where they were separated from their belongings. ID tags were issued to the Jews in order that they could reclaim their belongings. The NAZIs were meticulous in their arrangements. Once disrobed and naked, they were told to shower and be de-liced prior to being fed. Warm soup and fresh food were promised to await them after their showers. The Jews eager to eat from starvation filed into the showering areas, were sealed in and gassed.
The procedure was quick. Jews, sensing the Cyanide gas, would scramble, climbing on top of one another, in order to reach their noses to the vents. Many Jewish children were crushed and suffocated by their parents, climbing onto of them as they reacted to the sudden loss of breathable air. A scientific name for the state mind that overcomes one suffocation was created from the frantic displays of the Jews.
The procedure lasted some 10 minutes, The NAZIs would allow an additional 15 minutes for ventilation, then they would send Jews, spared for labor, into the showers and remove the bodies. These same Jews, called "Capos," would transport the lifeless bodies on wooden carts to the ovens for disposal.
One Ober-Lieutenant of the SS, after the war, criticized the Jewish media for exaggerating the extermination. He quoted a Jewish newspaper claiming that his disposal site killed 16,000 Jews per day. The Ober-Lieutenant laughed and exclaimed: "We seldom, if ever, achieved 12,000 Jews in one day. What they write these days is preposterous..." (or words to that effect).
I wrote this detail, because the Jews were not marched; however, they were meticulously disposed into refuse. And, it is precisely the very same mentality that oppresses Aruba with its many false accusations and disregard for the truth.
Lastly, it was only in small numbers that the Jews were marched to their deaths, shot in the head, drop in huge pits and buried. Other methods involved them being marched into huger pits, forced to layer like sardines (some seven layers high), then sprayed with machine-gun fire, doused in kerosene and set ablaze.
One last comment: I am not Jewish. I would have been one of the NAZIs. And, I would have participated in everything I just wrote. We have a reason to be concerned about what is happening to Aruba.
With Aloha,
Harry

Harry, thank you for the history lesson, and no offense, but since I am Jewish, it isn't news.
And if you want to hear about persecution of the Jews that not only rivals but outdistances the Nazi's I suggest you check out the Russians. which continues today, BTW.
Why do you think so many Jews lived in Germany?
because before the Nazi's came to power, Germany is the country they ran to from Eastern Europe to escape the persection.
That is why so many would not leave, they believed that it could not happen there, that in Germany they were accepted, allowed to hold honored positions in society, and to have professions, aside from money-lending. Something forbidden them in Eastern Europe.
I was being figurative, not literal. and I am talking about the bigotry, and the propaganda to influence the public against the Jews, I see this on the internet daily, being posted on all the blogs discussing this case, constant subliminal messages to plant the image of evil, predatory Arubans, waiting to ravage young women coming to Aruba. Nothing could be furthur from the truth.
And yes, I agree with you, America should be very concerned about what is happening in America as regards to Aruba. IMHO, it is a Manifestation of the worst kind of ignorance and bigotry, and it a similar mindset that led to the demise of many groups during the Holocaust, dont' forget, 12 million died in the camps, 6 million of them Jews. The gypsies were actually decimated by the Nazis.
I am simply astounded by what the Cable networks are doing, and what they are being allowed to do by good people that ignore what is going on. If good people had spoken up in the early 30's, possibly a terrible tragedy could have been prevented.
Harry, I thank you for your voice on this blog, and others that are trying to bring the truth to people. What I see is very frightening, the hate and misinformation being directed against this small nation should be a mark of shame for the U.S, and why more level heads with the power to stop it are allowing this to happen is beyond me.
I agree, be concerned, be very concerned.
Posted by: scubajap at December 25, 2005 11:48 PM
I wrote this detail, because the Jews were not marched; however, they were meticulously disposed into refuse. And, it is precisely the very same mentality that oppresses Aruba with its many false accusations and disregard for the truth.
My apologies Harry, I had not gotten to this part of your post when I wrote mine.
Yes, I must agree, and I understand the reasons for you detailing the inhuman treatment of an entire people during the holocaust.
If people cannot see what is going on here, then this is a sad state for the "land of the free and the home of the brave"
I do not know what prompted this, but from the very first days there were already some very strange and suspicious postings about Aruba, and I find this entire situation absolutely surreal and baffling.
Thank you Harry for your interesting posts and comments. People may think I am exaggerating about the Nazi mentality being displayed over the last five months, I am very happy to see that you agree with me on this somewhat.
Many good people are outraged at this, but have you noticed how many of the more active posters fighting this are Jewish? I suppose having our history, we are more sensitive to what is going on here and recognize it for what it is.

Dear scubajap:
The Twenty-first Century will not be kind to us. I fear what happened in the Twentieth Century will soon be overshadowed by what could be awaiting us in the coming decades. Aruba is a harbinger of the upcoming chaotic times of yet another period of social madness.
Amazingly, the Kingdom of Mountain Brook smiles at the success of their arrogance. Wait until they see what they have unleashed. They will not be smiling, then.
With regrets,
Harry
Posted by: harry at December 26, 2005 4:20 AM
I must wonder, what is this madness a symptom of?
And the complacancy of many in ignoring this situation also confounds me.
I had an assignment that required me to be at an Aruban preschool, photographing the children and Aruba's Governor Fredis Refunjol. The Governor is a man that was a teacher, and I always felt was not completely comfortable with the spotlight. (perhaps I am wrong, that is just my feeling) To see his smile of delight at the antics of these beautiful and innocent children was very touching, one rarely sees him smile like that when photographed.
I looked at the faces of those sweet, innocent children and thought about Joe M saying that a thousand of them was worth one American, and I thought of how they would be the ones that will suffer because of what is going on here, THESE CHILDREN AND THEIR PARENTS THAT RELY ON TOURISM FOR A LIVING, NOT the government, NOT the police, NOT the judiciary, as the Arubans will NOT rise up against their government over a police case, and is ridiculous to think they would. And there is no conspiricy or cover-up that is something manufactured to justify the persecution of the Arubans. And these people from MB are not stupid; this is NOT about putting pressure on the Arubans to do something, this is about hate, bigotry and vengence, pure and simple.
I looked in the faces of these children and I started to cry for the what is being directed against them, and I could not stop crying the entire morning, I am crying even now as I type these words. Never in my life did I believe that I would be a witness to such an evil as what is happening here. It is absolutely heartbreaking to see what is being done to the good people of this island, and it also heartbreaking to see what is happening to people in the states that jump on this bandwagon of hate. Where are the people of good conscience?
A couple from California that I had given one of my photographs last year came to Aruba in Sept-October and told me that they were absolutely outraged by the actions of Dr. Phil. They and their friends were writing letters to all his ADVERTISERS that from now on they would boycott their products as long as they supported his stance on this issue and his slanderous programming.
I would suggest that all individuals of good conscience do the same, take note of the advertisers of the Cable News Networks, Nancy Grace and others that fuel this campaign of lies and hate, flood them with e-mails and tell them they will boycott their products as long as it continues. These people are giving the U.S. a bad name around the world, I meet people from Europe, and South America here in Aruba, and they have no complaints about how Aruba handled the case, in fact they think all this is ludicrous, but they ARE angered and losing respect for the U.S., and as an expatriated American, this concerns me also. Even my own family still in the states, who have a sister LIVING in Aruba, are complacent and ignore the situation. I cannot tell you how much this distubs me, and their answer is "Awwww-it's all about making money, dont' you know that?" Hello? Who is making the money here? The Twittys? And does that make it OK by American standards? Because it is about making money?
If this is not reminiscent of how good people ignored the evil that was encroaching upon them during the rise of the Nazis, I don't know what is. Friends chide me that I have become obsessed with this, but we should all be obsessed, and concerned and take action. I should think if I can do at least one really good thing in my life, one accomplishment that I am truly proud of, it would be to help the Aruban people in this troubling time. What is happening cannot be ignored.

Dear scubajap:
We can only do what we can. By exposing this madness for what it is, perhaps we can diffuse it. AmSouth Bank needs to disassociate its influence from the Kingdom of Mountain Brook.
Hang in there, scubjap!

I am glad to hear that another american that is a resident of Aruba is feeling what we have been feeling since day one of this case. We have done our part. More then what the US ever did for one single missing person on its own territory. We are glad to see ugly side of Nancy Grace, Dr. Phil and Jerry Rivera. I can only say that thanks to Aruba many americans learn a few lessons. The first one is to stop waisting their time watching stupid talkshows. Spend more time with your childrens and educate them about their selfvalue and selfappreciation. Second lesson is that as american you now have another proof what a "typical American attitude" means...believing that money and arrogant can win the the world. Third lessons learn from Aruba is that now you all know what Aruba has to offer and and are always welcome to visit and to relax and enjoy the feeling of being treated like a real human not just another number or dollar signed figure. God bless you all.
