Costco Fires Catholic Who Denied Knights of Columbus Hall for Lesbian "Marriage"
Topics: Strange but trueI've placed this post under the category of "Strange but true" because I find the very idea of two people of the same sex having a "marriage" ceremony - very strange indeed, let alone the idea of suing a private faith-based organization for what amounts to not violating it's own beliefs, policies, rules, and principles behind it's very existence.
Now, to have a member of the Knights of Columbus who is in charge of renting the fraternity's hall for weddings and other events be fired from his day job at Costco [(604) 552-2228] for his involvement in denying two lesbians the facility for their same-sex "wedding" - that's what I call "over the top" in absurdity and injustice.
(Apparently he was a co-worker of the openly homosexual woman who sued him - as are many of the management at the Port Coquitlam warehouse)
In the interest of full disclosure, I happen to be an "inactive" fourth degree (no - I never got into the tuxedo, feathered hat (chapeau), cape and sword routine) Knight of Columbus - but if I never even heard of the Knights of Columbus, I'd still believe homosexuality to be wrong, homosexual marriage to be an oxymoron, and anyone to believe otherwise - to be a moron. (I realize I'm not being very inclusive and tolerant here, but there does indeed come a time, etc...)
