Two men charged under anti Terror laws in the UK
Topics: War on TerrorTwo men have been charged with conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to cause a bomb explosion. Their target was said to be a hospital. A third man has also been charged with possession of money and fund raising for terrorist purposes.
In our vigilance to prevent terrorist attacks, we need to keep in mind that not all of the terrorists are of Middle Eastern appearance, or even look like Africans. They can be blonde and blue eyed too.
The police need to have the power to prevent these acts of terror from taking place and they need to be able to have the freedom to act upon information that has been received. These are people who are fanatical. Some are mentally unstable (David Hicks the accused Australian is mentally unstable) and as such they have no real understanding about what they are doing.
We need to avoid the Paris situation (something that has been seen in Australia amongst the Aborigine community in recent years), and that is why I hope that these serious charges (treasonable offences that deserve the death penalty if it still existed) must stick.
