Rescuers race against time in the Kashmir
Topics: Natural DisastersRescuers in the Pakistani border region of the Kashmir are continuing to work against time in order to save quake victims. The weather forecasters have predicted that snow will fall in the region as early as next week.
The official death toll as a result of the quake now stands at 73,000 and continues to rise. Now, officials fear that if the aid does not continue in the region more will die as a result of contracting pneumonia. Not only is there an urgent health situation but there is a need to ensure that the displaced people of the region are able to receive adequate food supplies.
